Down the Drain
 

I had to learn

how to unspool

the thread of lies

playing tug-of-war

as I pull them

from my throat

like the plug from

the drain

I stare unabashed

unafraid

of the

dark, murky water

a whirlpool of

things I used to drink

oh, how much

went down

the drain

and how freely

now flows
