“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it”. Genesis2:15(NIV)
God has a special plan for your life and for the purpose of his plan, you were born. God designed a future specifically for you, he reserved something unique for your life. A great destiny is exclusively prepared and preserved for your discovery and fulfilment. God created a sphere where you are destined to be fruitful, a place of your influence and a land of your dominion. Everything God made, he made to fulfil a purpose. He created Adam for a purpose and for Adam to fulfil that purpose and for the ultimate plan of God to be established on earth, God gave Adam work in the Garden of Eden. God gave Adam work to do, that through his work-assignment, Adam will fulfil his glorious destiny on earth by making also the plan of God for his life a reality.
God called Adam and led him into the field he created him to function, a field designed to suit the work he was made to perform. Everyone on earth is born for a reason, everyone came to the world to do a certain work in accordance with the will of God. God has designed a plan for the life of everyone, there’s a work for each person on earth, there’s something you were born to do. God did not create you to be someone else, God did not create you to do something he has called another person to do. You are created to be yourself, you are called to do just what God created you to do and nothing else.
It takes work to fulfil the calling of God for your life. For you to truly fulfil your calling on earth, you must first know the purpose why you were born. It is after knowing the purpose why you were born that you can discover what you’ll do to fulfil your calling. That’s when you’ll discover the specific work-the assignment you are to carry out on earth to make the plan and purpose of God for your calling a reality. This is why when God brought Adam into the world, God took Adam and led him straight to the field where he called him to work. And there, God made Adam responsible with a task/assignment.
God has plans for the world and in line with the fulfilment of his plans, we were all created. God called us all for different purposes and for the very purpose of our calling, he gave us assignments. If you know your purpose on earth, you will know what work to do to deliver on the assignment. When God calls you, he calls you to meet an existing need in the world. There are needs everywhere, but there is a need that is specific for your calling, there is a need you were created to meet.
Let’s see a need that led to the call of Adam. Genesis 2:4-5(NIV)
This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens-and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and they was no man to work the ground
The shrub of the field has not yet appeared on the earth and the plant of the field had not yet sprung up. These happenings on the surface of the earth as we’ve read in the verse above are definitely not the plan of God. God never intended for the shrub and the plant of the field to remain dormant underneath the ground. The plan of God was for them to spring forth and grow successfully on earth but because there was no man to manage and take responsibility in handling what God wants to do, God withheld the rain from falling. If God finds a man who will do the work he wants him to do on earth, God will bring about the needed increase, growth, development and prosperity in the land.
There was stagnation everywhere in the land, nothing was growing and nothing moved, there was no life on the surface of the earth, the plan of God was unfulfilled all because there was no man available to take up responsibility in doing the work of God. No man was available to manage the plan and purpose of God, no man was present to do the specific work God wants him to do on earth.
This is exactly what we are experiencing in the world today, there are problems everywhere and economies of nations are crumbling, sickness and disease are ravaging humanity, so much pain, suffering, hunger, poverty and frustrations in the land, mismanagement of resources and corruption in our systems, confusion and wickedness all over the world. All these troubles and problems, all these happenings challenging the world and humanity are really not the will of God. The plan of God is being suspended from fulfilment because there is no man to work the ground. No man is available to do the needed work to establish God’s plan, no man is taking responsibility for the management and proper care of all the resources that God has provided. Things are really not working on earth as God planned them to work and the reason is because man is not available where God want him to be and man is not taking up responsibility to do the work God called him to do on earth.
God desires to do great and wonderful works on the earth, God has marvellous plans to be made manifest in the world. What God needs is a man that will be responsible to manage the task that he will reveal and assign to him. God needs a man that will do his work, a man that will fulfil the very purpose of his calling by doing the work he sent him on earth to do.
This is the reason why Adam was called. When God created Adam, God took Adam to a field, and in that field, God gave Adam a work to do that meets the need for his calling. This, we saw earlier in Genesis 2:15(NIV) “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it”.
The truth is, there’s a present need that God wants you to meet in the world, this need may be in any of the fields on earth. The reason God is leading you to that field or that particular area of interest may be as a result of a present need he wants you to meet. God designed and made you the way you are, he brought you to the world and allowed you to go through all the experiences of your life, he gave you your personality and interest, blessed you with a gift just to make you perfect and fit for the very purpose of your calling. Everything you need to fulfil the purpose of your calling has been given to you by God. The very purpose of your calling is to meet that need in creation that satisfies the will of God for your life on earth. The discovery of that need you were born to fulfil is the discovery of your calling on earth. When you find it, you’ve found your life’s task and the work you were born to do.
Nothing exists in life without a reason for being. Everything you see serves a purpose, everything is very useful in the place God has positioned it to be. Nothing on earth is useless. Everything has its value and meaning in the ultimate plan of God. This is the plan and ultimate will of God; that the earth be filled with the glory of
God. The Glory of God is the fulfilment of his will, the Glory of God is the establishment of his purpose. Everyone’s life is created to fulfil a purpose, to have meaning and to have value. We are all created to be impactful and relevant, made to achieve the full significance of our calling on earth. No man is born irrelevant or a liability to the world, everyone is born an asset to humanity, we all live to influence and impact our world positively in our own individual unique ways. God has created everyone with uniqueness and has assigned a special task to each of us that suits our uniqueness, gifts, values, and purpose. Everyone is born with a responsibility to deliver to the world that uniqueness that God has given each one of us and until you understand and come to terms with the fact that you are responsible and that you owe it to the world as a duty to work out and deliver that unique gift and potentials within you, you may never fulfil the purpose of your calling and you will not live a meaningful, significant, prosperous life, you may never experience self-satisfaction and fulfilling in life.
For so many years I’ve asked myself severally why most people spend their lives on earth doing works they struggle with, works they know they really don’t want to do? Why do they spend active years of their time on earth living a false life, doing things that they have little or no interest in? Why do they get themselves engaged with jobs they don’t love and why do they put in so much of their time and resources to promote courses or businesses that they don’t have grace or passion for? I kept asking within me, what makes people do works with little or no work satisfaction, having no form of enthusiasm or passion for what they’re doing. Why do people attach themselves with works that creates a feeling of emptiness in them? Why are they not in places, doing things that promote their natural gifts and talents? Why do they work with so much pain at heart that most often, they feel drained, stressed and bitter as a result of the work they are doing instead of enjoying themselves by doing the work of their dream? Why don’t they go for opportunities that will cause them to grow and improve on themselves and their abilities, works they will have fun and pleasure doing? Why is their primary focus and condition for work consideration dependent on what they stand to gain in terms of payments and other material benefits rather than the satisfaction, meaning and the sense of fulfilment of purpose that comes from doing the work of your heart?
I looked again and I found a separate few, outstanding in their ways who seem to have it all under control. They approach their work with a great sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, passion and great zeal, their work is something that they love doing and this they do very well regardless of time, they are at peace with both their work and with themselves. Most often, for this very few, it’s always difficult for one to separate their work time and their fun time because to them work is fun and their fun is their work. They go through life convinced that working with all their heart, and doing what they enjoy and believe is the work God has assigned them to do, is the only true definition of living the good life, and with this conviction, they believe that no other work will give them as much satisfaction and fulfilment as the work they are doing. These are people who see life as an opportunity and an avenue to express to the outside world in works, the values and treasures they carry deep within which God deposited in them. They work out all of their ideas, insights and revelations, they convert them to value products or services. Their goal is always to contribute immensely to the benefits and wellbeing of humanity.
This set of people live life with the mentality of delivering to the world all that they see possible, all that they received from God and all that their heart has conceived. They live a life of creation, impact and success, they are very relevant wherever they function, and they are satisfied and fulfilled with the work of their hands. They see their work not as a career or a job but a calling from God and an avenue of fulfilling purpose. They believe that they are living the life they were meant to live and are doing what they were born to do. They live a value driven life, doing those things that adds value to them in ways that it delivers great value to others. They are living a meaningful and an impactful life and they are a blessing to humanity and the world at large.
There is truly no life outside the plan of God for your life. Whatever you do outside of what God created you to do is meaningless. Only a purpose driven life will deliver the plan of God for your life on earth, only your assignment will deliver the satisfaction, fulfilment, peace, joy and glorious prosperity that the purpose of God brings to your life and to the world.
The truth of your life is the call and purpose of God for your life. Anything outside the truth of your life will never bring you peace of heart, joy or fulfilment in life. If what you are doing is not in accordance with the plan or purpose of God for your life, you are functioning outside of your truth which is your calling. Functioning outside of your calling is working against God’s will for your life and the outcome is a life of poverty, misery, confusion, frustration, pain and suffering- a life of bondage. You are like a fish put outside water, a fish struggling to survive on dry ground all because where you are is not where you are meant to be and what you are doing is not what you were born to do. When you function outside the truth of your life, you are misplaced on earth and you’ll never escape the struggles and frustrations that accompany a life that strives to survive in an empty and barren land.
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32(KJV)
We are all created to do what God has called us to do, that is our truth in Christ. We are all called to life with a duty to perform, a responsibility to carryout and a purpose to fulfil in Christ. This is the only way we can live a satisfying, meaningful and fulfilling life, when we live life in God’s will.
In the world today, there are so many misplaced people who are without a sense of direction for their lives. People who do not know what God has called them to do on earth, they do not know who they are and what they were born for. They are everywhere, living a false life, building the lives, dreams and destinies of others without regards to their own life, dream and destiny. They are doing works they don’t love to do and they are doing works they don’t have passion for. They are very busy doing every other thing that comes their way but never able to achieve anything meaningful in line with their calling. A life outside your calling and purpose is nothing and is meaningless. These people are in strategic places, occupying positions of authority in offices they have no business with, and they are in organisations they have nothing to contribute.
This is the major challenge ravaging humanity, for where there is no vision, the people perish. (Prov. 29:18). Destruction and corruption are the results of a visionless people or society, evil practices and mismanagement of resources can never be separated from a people blinded from their calling in life. The ultimate plan of Satan is to keep you far away from God’s plan for your life, his ultimate mission is to ensure you never get to discover the calling of God for your life and you never get to fulfil your purpose. The devil knows that when you come into your calling, you have entered your land of dominion and the place of your prosperity, he knows that when you come into your assignment, you will succeed in establishing the kingdom of God on earth. He is aware that your calling is your domain where you have the power to reign in your assignment as an authority in your world. The devil understands that putting you away from your calling is subjecting you to survival and mediocrity, he is aware that the plan of God for your life will be made a reality if you function excellently in your calling and this is why he does everything to put you away from your calling.
It is only in your calling that you are empowered by God to influence and impact your world greatly for the kingdom. Your calling is where you are destined for greatness and glory. The devil understands that your calling holds your blessings in life and he also knows that your calling is your promise land rich in milk and honey, that’s why he is doing all he can do to stop you from stepping into your calling. The devil is afraid of who you are and what you carry. He’s afraid of what will become of your destiny when you manifest your calling. There’s no limits to what you can do and there is no limit to what you can become when you come into your calling. When you are fulfilling your calling, you function in the realm of the miraculous and most things that others may see as impossible, will become possible with you. The devil understands that through the fulfilment of your calling, the kingdom of God will be established in that business, that office, that ministry, that community, that field and that nation. He knows that when you come into your calling, you will bring the glory of God to your world and that is why he fights you with all he’s got to ensure you never manifest the purpose of God for your life. It’s really unfortunate that most persons are held captive in this confused and wicked plan of Satan to blind men away from their true destinies in life. There is no way you can adequately serve God in truth and spirit located where he has not positioned you to function. The primary assignment of every believer after salvation is to discover what exactly God has called him or her to do on earth. It is in your place of calling that God communicates his plans to you, that is where he releases continuously to you his agenda for the earth, and he gives them to you in form of ideas, insights, visions, and plans. This is where he reveals to you all that he wants you to do so that you may put them to work, act on them, develop them and deliver them to your world as valuable products, policies, strategies or services. It is in your place of calling that you enjoy continuous open heaven and in your same calling, you have the power and capacity to make the impossible possible, the invisible visible and the things which are not yet in existence, you bring into existence. Only in your calling are you destined and empowered to establish the kingdom of God on earth. This is the work you’ve been called at such a time in the history of humanity to engage yourself with, converting into visible reality those invisible plans that are been reveal to you by God. All the ideas and visions you received from God, all the wonderful imaginations and revelations you conceived in your heart, all the insights you have, these are the seeds or divine deposits by God to your heart, these are invisible treasures given to you to work on and make a reality in the world. There are seeds given to you to convert into valuable fruits. It is in the fulfilment of this divine will that the glory of God is manifest, therefor, cast out the devil, discover and come into the calling for your life.
Nothing just exists; everything you see has been made or set up to serve a genuine purpose or to perform a specific function. God called all things into being that creatures called may abide in good works, doing what they’ve been called to do. Everything you see has been designed and made for something significant, either to fill a void or to improve on something already in existence. Everything around you meets a significant need. Nothing exists for nothing because everything, no matter how little it may be, exists for something. Nothing exists for nothing. Nature is perfect and there is no imperfection in creation. Everything in the world is a solution to a problem and all the problems that exists today already has their solution somewhere, it will only take the heart of man to birth their discovery.
Discovery is the mother of creations, it is the foundation for every manifestation. Discoveries are made when the heart is focused intensely on a specific objective with the intent of bringing the will of God to pass. It takes discovery to bring about the needed solution to a problem and to come up with a discovery, one must be intentional in searching for the right answer and must be passionate about the task he or she has chosen to undertake. Genuine hunger for change and a hearty connection with one’s task is what’s required to bring about a discovery that will lead to a transformation in the area of one’s interest.
Your heart is the centre point of communication between you and God, your heart is where God reveals to you what he has planned for your life and the work he has called you to do. You cannot separate one’s heart from what God has made him for, the same way a thing cannot be separated from its function, your heart is divinely connected to what you have been called to do in life, that is why you can instinctively sense what you’re wired for or what you truly want to do. You can feel a connection with it whenever you find yourself doing something related to what you are called to do, it usually feels so easy and comes natural with you, you feel much more relaxed and self-motivated, energized and very active whenever you engage yourself doing it.
When you find yourself in your calling, your creativity comes fully alive, you become well aware of yourself and fully positioned to make happen or bring to life those creative ideas that are deposited within your spirit. Those powerful inspiration and those positive energies that are been generated within you are converted to value, and having the liberty of expressing yourself, you discover more of your potentials as you function in the area of your strength and in the place where you’re wired to succeed in performance.
When you function from the heart, you tap into a realm of limitless possibility, a world where every tangible substance in existence emanated from, where every material creation that is today a blessing to humanity was once conceived. When you function from the heart, you function from the well of Gods deposit in you. for everything you’ve been created to be and to do is stored up deep inside of you and this is why the Call of God is a call to function from your spirit (heart).
It is great wisdom to discover and do the very work wherein you’ve been called to do. Your calling holds your creative potential, you are much more creative when you set your heart to do what you are gifted for. There is actually no limits to your creativity when it relates to your potentials and what you were born to do. When it comes to what you were born to do, your mind works at its best and delivers creatively, the best of its values.
Operating in your place of calling puts you in a different class and world of your own, a place where you manifest naturally the powers of creation inherent in you. This is your domain, your place of authority and control, a place where God empowered you to use your mind, to create from your imaginations and to put to work your ideas. This is where you have power to create a change and make a difference. In your calling, you are in charge and you are a king, this is where God designed you to reign and to influence your world. We are called to manifest as lights and to shine on the earth, we are called to do extraordinary things that are significant and impactful to the well-being of humanity, we are called to use the remarkable abilities inherent within us to make a difference and create a change in our world. We have the mandate to make this life much more beautiful and enjoyable, more meaningful and glorious just the way God designed it to be from the very beginning.
