Carmen Garcia, for what you’ve encouraged and for helping me find the way to God. Without you and the years we’ve shared would never have bought a fork in the road that led in two directions. This was God’s plan. But like the colors of the rainbow, he blended a family together, although at times apart, his spirit kept us close.
To my Mother, who always believed that I can do anything and for having my best interest at heart, you’ve instilled love, kindness, expressed the importance of forgiveness and more importantly, the value of treating others as you would yourself. There was never a time where you discouraged, doubted or second-guessed. A mother’s job is to protect her children and raise them in the way they should go. You’ve gone above and beyond, our burdens became a bridge of encouragement you built to show us that life would not always be as we expect, but by putting God first, guidance and protection will always keep the road clear.
Dr. Robert Case, Pastor: a man who exemplifies Paul’s teaching of faith through their works of care, understanding and giving to those rejected by society’s bigotry. “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (James 2 24-27 (ESV). With earnest sincerity and a pure heart, you give that which others selfishly deny themselves. sharing the gift of selfless giving; you are the example all other pastors should follow.
