61. Raw-Faced and Empty-Handed

Oh there I am,
Thirty-six years later
But You’re not a slave
To time.
In it, I wonder
If Your fingers
Stirred up all
Those instances
Where I was left raw-faced
And empty handed.
I know of many
Who would blame
Your stone heart
For something like that.
But I blame my mind’s eye
For seeing it all wrong.
Because thirty-six years later,
Here You are.
And here I am.
Face firm and hands full
Of all the things waiting for me
On this other side of time.
