There’s a little

Piece of us

Off camera, concealed

and covered in God’s

right hand

Where late night love

and heartbreak

And kitchen fires

and all the things

I meant to be are tangled

in their knots.

But in His other one,

He holds the day

we said “forever”

until that moment

when even forever

has to end,

and all the truth

and honesty

in this

One little moment

Is left to breath,

Your pulse against mine,

Our daughter’s beating heart,

And ours soon to surely fade.
