It is also important because there were many prophesies delivered to Israel but she turned her eyes away from them and from her God.

The very thing that Edom did, Judah and Israel did. God spoke to her out of love for her, yet she rebelled in order to follow her own way.

The People of the city are given a strong Contrast, 4:1-11

The judgment from Yahweh made the people of Judah a people of contrast in that they were blessed, but are now suffering severely, 4:1-11.
