The science fiction films from the 1950s that feature in this volume imaginatively depict what could happen during a time of alien contact in the form of transmission of messages and visitations to the planet earth. Such films also serve to reflect the kinds of fears that were prevalent at the time as well as offering commentary concerning the state of human affairs on our own planet. It is interesting to note just how much of this can apply to our own era in the 21st century!
