When I was a little girl, I saw a ballerina dancing on the backs of eight white horses as they ran around a ring in the circus. I immediately decided that this would be my career path.
As I got older, two things happened: one, I began to read, and two, I began to consider not breaking my neck an important goal.
So rather than capturing wild mustangs and training them to trick-ride in the circus, I started writing my imaginary adventures. I'm on book six, I'm having a great time, and I haven't broken a single bone in the process.
