Who Lacks Bread

Forever

no bread

and a heart

like stone

and two hands

like a mother’s

but a mouth

devoid

of love.

All these things

make up

my face

and hair

and hands.

And all

these things

can eat the

edges and innards

of a weary soul

unless that soul

seeks

You.
