A Good Day All in All
I needed to go out today
car was dead as a dodo, so
decided I would take a stroll
more of a wobble really.
Weather was warm and sunny, a few buds on the trees
funny, some of the things you see
the old church that isn't now but still used for lecturing
a young oriental woman, well dressed, immaculate
walking along, laughing and chatting to herself
the kind of thing I associate with older folk or inebriates,
people living on the street.
Found a closing down sale, bought myself some bargains
and I was almost home before the pain made walking difficult
Wrote this to pass the time walking through the streets
maybe I was muttering too, making others wonder.
Though not ideal it proved to be a good day
all in all.
