Faith is more than

a nice sounding idea that we tell each other

to find comfort

as our world goes dark

Faith is only as good

as what it is placed in

a torn parachute will let us down

even if we honestly believe that it will help us fly

above the lake of fire

lapping up at our feet

faith becomes visible

when we let go of our efforts to save ourselves

and fall

knowing that we will be caught by love

can we have a relationship

without support

without this sort of trust

can we have hope without knowing

that we can be redeemed

even when we fail
