20.  The Things I Never Created

I think all the time how fleeting

every inch of every second

I constructed in my heart is.

I created life but wasn’t it

God who really did all the things

I could barely think to do?

And here it is, all around me,

the things I never created-

an exact hierarchy of what I’m not,

my humility on display,

and the frankness

of my gratefulness,

playing full-fledged

in my heart.
