HAMGWALLYŎNG (Five character, Quatrain)

Pukch'ŏng, a remote town in Hamgyŏng Province, has intimations of hard living. The rhyme is han/nan. Tones match.

Already it’s the fourth month on Hamgwallyŏng Pass;

still the Pukch'ŏng magistrate feels the cold.

Only now has the azalea begun to bloom.

Spring is having problems climbing the mountain.
