RISEN
Her favorite
is Mark
and sometimes
she lies down
face flat against
pillow
Eyes shut
to all
the soft
talking,
heart abandoned
to everything reasonable
and thinks about the greatest
story,
a cut short ending,
a question
asked:
“Believe?”
And she does
because she’s
never felt
more hope
than when
she’s walking
away
from the
crowd.
