SICK PEOPLE DO

The world outside,

it’s fire,

no ice,

melts my skin

and comes for her

and swipes at me,

but I’m beneath

the table,

Bible like knife,

and I keep the prayer

behind my tongue,

in my brain,

thoughts of everything

old,

cleaned away,

and the only

new is hunting

the hunters.
