IN THE LAND OF MILK AND HONEY

Forty years for everything,

the mortgage,

the two dogs

that vomit on the

carpet,

the look in your

eyes

that will be lost

with time

and our girl's

voice,

once little

now so big,

bigger than me

and you

and the moment

we first met

when all the other things

swept up around our ankles

and God discarded

them

among

the

stars.
