Continue to dream
where the sky serpentines into oblivion,
continue to dream,
where the night hugs the sun,
and I did, I did
dream of repose
on the island of thorns
where the snake cries
forlorn.
I took him to the rainbow,
and he journeyed alone,
color by color,
gliding across me,
gliding across the skin
of the light.
So did the universe begin.
