The Horse and the Elephant

Due to a freak experiment,

The horse was bigger than

The elephant

“Wow.”

The elephant said;

“I thought I was a big guy!”

“You should count your blessings!”

The horse responded;

“It’s terrible to be this big and tall!”

Although the horse body had grown,

The truth was,

The horses legs had not

Her legs were still as thin

As when she had been normal size

“Am I a freak? I can barely stand!”

The horse asked the elephant aloud

“No! You’re still yourself! You’re still a horse, aren’t you?”

“Ok, great! Then don’t worry about not being able to hold yourself up!”

“BUT I CAN’T HOLD MYSELF UP!!”

The elephant had a brilliant, self-sacrificial idea to help the horse!!

“Here! How about I give you my legs?”

“Your legs?!”

“Yes, my friend!!”

The elephant detached his legs and shoved them on the ground,

In front of his horse friend!!

“You can take off yours, and put mine on!!”

“Ok, if you say so, elephant. As long as it doesn’t affect you too badly! Here goes!”

The horse detached his own legs

And gave them to the elephant!

In the end, the horse learned how to stand

On two, sturdy legs!!

While the elephant sacrificed

His own legs

In order to help

His horse friend!!

Although the elephant

Had trouble standing properly now,

And sometimes had to sit and rest,

As he smiled to himself,

And waited for his long, thin legs,

To build up muscle,

And get used

To supporting his weight,

He felt great

“This isn’t so bad!!”

He said,

Proud of his self-sacrifice

He smiled happily

Because he had

Been able to help

An oversized animal friend!
