Awaken!
My eyes have finally opened!
But I was filled with neither joy
Nor contentment.
At about the age of accountability,
Amid youthful bliss
And innocent meanderings-
I was filled with curiosity
But it wasn’t a curiosity that satisfied me,
For my eyes became opened
To the harsh, worldly, realities.
Permanence is merely a pipe dream
And the animals are cursed,
Just as we-
Why does a snake bite and a wasp sting?
Why are we subject to such things?
