Grandson of Sejong the Great, Tanjong became the sixth king of the dynasty. However, Prince Suyang, afterwards known as Sejo, took the boy king’s throne and sent him in exile to Yongwol, a beautiful valley in Kangwon Province. Tanjong was forced to drink poison at Sejo’s orders.
