HERITAGE
He loved her
for the curve
of her breast,
and her pretty smile.
Her chemistry responded
to his wanting her.
They didn’t know
that their merging
would forge, link by link,
an indestructible melding.
They didn’t expect
that the children,
grandchildren,
great-grandchildren
that came from their mating
would continue forever
to carry the seeds
