The Naked Ramblers

They wanted to walk from Lands End to John O' Groats.  Naked.

Naked but for socks and boots; not quite as they were born.

Except too for rucksacks, traditionally worn upon

the back so hiding nothing; nothing worth hiding anyway.

Almost made it too.  Yes, a few arrests, nights in jail,

for "breaching the peace". Challenging our attitudes.

This latter day Eve and Adam doing nothing untoward,

moving quietly along, made few folk really angry.

A few mothers, mortified, worried that their children's

innocence would be destroyed.  Kind of makes you wonder though.

I thought it was quite a feat; not braving the stares and giggles.

No, what really got me was how they stood the cold!
