Meet Up

By

Robby Richardson

DEDICATED

To one of my best friends and partner Aaron

“His Requiem be complete, but his Magnum Opus has still yet to be played”

It’s just another…

Long minute, long hour, long day, long week

Where can we meet up…

I need a long drink, a long smoke, a long toke on those nights we were broke Where can we meet up…

Are the memories I’ll treasure the most to wait for the money with your best buddy When can we meet up…

It’s just another day…

The Law of Loyalty we tested and passed against the norms we contested Just tell me when we can meet up…where we can meet again

Us against the world just me and my friend

Just tell me when I can come through

When can we take away the pain from what life can do

We were always about the money, always about the high

So how could we NOT chase after the money and NOT chase after the high Answer the call when opportunity knocked and pursuing the money was all we got We never fit the mold, never fit in but the picture of us is a puzzle that we just fit in Two pieces to complete a story of two…my debt to you

I had to paint for what I owe you

How do I fit in this world without knowing our story is incomplete It’s another long drink and just like a drink your gone in a blink And the only thing left to think…

It’s just another long night…

Under a lonely full moon without you

How quick does the dark come when time calls too soon

Under dirt or paved roads do we gather these tolls for the souls we toll And if the cash don’t flow than heads will roll… SWISH

With a symphony left unfinished with a note that sings like a nightingale and a libretto of exciting tales We stay humble and a constant reminder to never forget the cold or the struggle My belief in the end is what carries in my heart and in my head I hope Charon guides your way…holds onto memories with every stroke With every paddle that he rows with every wade he rows

May it bring you closer to your peace and forever home

Whatever fee it cost for you to cross put that on me

The cost of your friendship can never be repaid

Because I’d pay it twice so put that debt on me

It’s just another…

Long second, long month, long year but no lesser tears from me Where can we meet up…

A long city drive on Lake Shore Drive, a long night remembering how we lived our lives Where can we meet up…

Are the memories all others will be measured, always up to no good with your best buddy When can we meet up…

I’ll see you again when we meet up

Nasdrovia my friend

FIFTEEN

Be Humble Or Get Humbled

SIXTEEN

You’ll Never Know The Value Of Something Until It’s Gone

Breath

Just breath…count with me a simple 1, 2, 3

The silence and simplicity of a single breath

How valuable is your breath when your last is about to be gasped What is the answer if the question is not asked

Does death not come for the rose

Does the night not seem darkest at midnight’s toll

On bended knees does my forgiveness begin to surrender my being just to find my meaning More than a gold’s worth we pay for the sins we commit

What debt have I paid for me to merely breathe or to be missed Fabled fool of the test don’t know what’s good till good won’t exist Please God forgive this sinner who acts like he doesn’t know any better How can the harm I caused be forgiven within the ink of a mere letter Show up to the last supper rounding on clouds from a double header What is life without a mask…what is a man without a past

I assure you I am not my worth in gold…worth saving a soul My paradise lay undelivered is not worth even my weight in silver And now that it’s my turn…in your hands does my salvation seem to wither My afterlife does hinder, my paradise or damnation to deliver CLICK…

Can somebody flick the light switch off please and just throw away that key I deserve nothing but the isolation and the dark you see

How many times have I found comfort in a light within the dark A simple flick from a BIC a light from a spark that helps to keep me from falling apart

I knew I’d always give a part of my heart to her and love for her That fleeting floating taste of bad habits from a sweet call from Alice chasing more than rabbits The malice others had towards her drew me closer which meant giving everything for her In the land I was born and lived I was nothing but a foreigner I know my worth…my worth is dying without a mourner

Overdosing in some trap house in some dark shady corner

On a lonely alley road somewhere alone in the cold

From a bag bought with the remnants of my soul

I know my worth its dying in the dark

On some filthy floor in a dirty room, nest, or overpass like a rat or mouse Death In A Trap House

The most honest writing I’ve ever yet written

And all this for somebody the world won’t be missing, nothing but good riddance A grave nobody would visit…

A person that won’t be missed…

A world won’t know is gone…

Nobody cared in life…thought or say…

So why would they care in death on this waste

This wretch Amazing Grace can’t save and God got wrong

Death In A Trap House

Who am I…

I am and been the lowest on the rung…wrung then hung

This is me…the question of life or the meaning of life is the endless quest in who am I

The answer you seek lies in a broken sinner that’s too broken for the meek I know my worth it’s death in some trap house that few choose to seek I assure you I am not enough…never enough…or just enough

I am not tough in a world that constantly breaks you in a society that continues to shape you How many times can a mirror be broken before the picture is too distorted Too cracked…too contorted…too tormented

Undeserved of the time I’ve earned in what I’ve learned

The wounds that break us are the scars that bind us

The demons that chain us…

The dark that preys us…

The cuts that are too deep to put behind us

Is the foot on your back and the weight dragging you down Is there anybody out there…Is there anybody out there at all Is there anybody listening to a penitent sinner’s call to rise before the fall Still a firm believer in honor amongst thieves

Fore only thieves can see what and how the struggle can really be Blood can tie but the ribbon of experience can deliver a bond that centers us We’re expected to do good expected to be clean

Fore only pain can be seen by those with pain underneath

I’ve always been happy with just a pen and a paper

A hopeful listening ear for the tales I tell ya

Forked are the tongues of the lies they try to sell ya and mine are no better How many times have I been close to overdosing

Sell a story of a beautiful lie that I was just merely over dozing…over dozing this only time

I’ve never been lucky…in life, in time, nor in this hobby of mine So why in death would redemption and forgiveness I find

Is this me…are you killing me

Is this my value of how the world sees me

I know my worth…it’s dying in a trap house

A failing slouch on some broken infested couch

Or dying in my front driver’s seat

On some lonely Chicago street

From the meds that I swore needed just to treat

If I don’t die in some trap house then I made it

So, who am I…

I’m that…

Black sheep sown from what was reaped not even worth the promises to keep Waste of breath or waste of time that Icarus that falls from Heaven’s sky I ‘m that…

Waste of space that waste of energy that little train that could never be My worth is no more than the dirt in the mud from the struggle endured from spilling my blood The confidence is a show and it’s all I know

The stories I have lived has left me isolated and alone

I’m that…

Waste of money that thanks and good for nothing

I’m not worth the salt nor the spit

However, when I shook your hand, I always meant it

Loyal to a fault who can’t outwit man to rival a mere Walt I’m that…

Failure that zero that raging water through which your rowboat can’t row Paid for by my sins with my soul on a debt that I still owe A soul rebought and quickly exchanged for lower credit of the price that was paid Not worth the paper the riches are printed I’ve admitted

I’m that…

Waste of effort or that waste of flesh

Waste of cash with no return on what you invest

Waste of resources, waste of strength broken down by unforeseen forces I’m that…

Doormat that people walk on

The walking joke people seem to dog on

The question of why even try and the answer to the question of why even bother And when I fight back only then did I realize that I’m the bad guy I’ve lost friends, family, myself, soul and the only thing I wish to know What was I doing right…why me

To think that I am worthy of anything even the air I breathe And I guess that’s just how it will be

Because I know my worth and if I die and found sober

A comforting feeling coming closer bringing my worth to a mediocre closure NOW LET’S FLIP THE ENTIRE WORLD OVER

PICK UP THE PENCIL LIKE A SHOVEL

REDO THE DIG ALL OVER

Drop this world like I wouldn’t even miss her

Only to notice the only opinion that truly matters

Starts and ends in the reversed perception or belief with the man in the mirror Here with me again is my old and dearest friend

Walking hand and hand with me to my very final end

The one constantly, relentlessly, incessantly, never ceasing in its hounding to bring about my downfall I need to remind you of what I have the crown for

Remind you of your size and oh how small you really are

Dig myself out of this hole in this grave I’ve dug myself into Watch me put worlds into order and billiard these marbles shining like pearls Of calamitous catastrophes that could bring down entire galaxies I’ve never forgotten how rough the road can go or where madness takes you From Cheshire tales to a caterpillar warning

Or fight the tide that constantly seems to be churning

Kick my feet up on tables that never stop turning

The anaconda in your nightmares that frightens, whose coils begin to tighten The Goliath among men and giant among the titans

Drop pumpkins on heads for a Chaucer’s Revenge

No matter how petty I always will have my revenge Whatever the consequences I’ll settle them at the end

We’ll see whose roar means more when the darkness comes forth I’m the apex of the predator off the chain come and get at her The R in the Purge that I could literally bring like a scourge Lay it at your feet like I’m presenting at an alter

Uphold an oath that I swore to keep alive the anarchy I believe inside Hannibal is at the gate…I’m the enemy at the gate

That was sent to do battle and eradicate

The greatest enemy is me and it seems my eminent demise is destined as fate THE END

A Feeling Like This

By

Robby Richardson

A moment lost in an instant found to hold time in timeless Holding a feeling that brings breath to the lifeless

Inspire the flightless to find this moment to hold this as is An ember, a spark, a kindle, a feeling as simple as…

NA, NA, NA, NA…LA, LA, LA, LA

A feeling like…

DUM, DUM, DUM, DUM…OH, OOH, OOOH, OH, OOH

A feeling like this

A feeling that reduces timber to cinders

The slide of interlocking fingers or butterfly wings flicker The flutter of a rose upon those cherry lips

A tight embrace in a sweet escape with every breath I take It’s that beloved song on days so long…own it even if for a miniscule moment When the struggle forsakes and your dam near breaks for the pennies you make The dreams you chase from the nightmares you wake

Relief from the mistakes along the path you take

It’s the nights you’re off and knowing you’re well off

Blessed by your life and what it cost

Embracing those memories we’ve almost lost

It’s that long car ride that good ol’ ride that feeling the heart finds Leaned back in your seat with nothing but smooth road underneath A feeling like this

An ember, a spark, a kindle, a feeling as simple as…

A feeling as simple as NA, NA, NA, NA

A feeling as simple as LA, LA, LA, LA

A moment simply put of a feeling that simply took

A feeling like…

NA, NA, NA, NA

A feeling like…

LA, LA, LA, LA

A feeling like this

A feeling like…

OH, OOH, OOOH, OH OHO

A feeling like…

DUM, DUM, DUM, DUM

A feeling like this

It’s that starry eye kiss where the eye’s do insist

Those of a temptress which makes me attempt this

The shyness of nervous lips that quiver hips

A love so found, why hadn’t we seen this

That smile of true love like a call from above

An epiphany that changes something within me

To follow the road round with confidence and the fortune it brings me Revenge on the enemy you kept at arm’s length

Knowing you made the best decision you’ll ever make Toasting a drink for the relief of mistakes you’ll never make That dream that makes you never want to wake

That feeling that makes your knees quake…memories reminisced A feeling like…

NA, NA, NA, NA

A feeling like…

LA, LA, LA, LA

A feeling like this

A feeling like…

OH, OOH, OOOH, OH, OHO

A feeling like…

DUM, DUM, DUM, DUM

A feeling like this

The first day of vacation or that stomach drop anticipation It’s that comforting hug that won’t let go

Like a writer finding his libretto or a singer finding his falsetto The thrill of the win after ready, set, go

A feeling that makes life a meadow

Fully surrendering to the let go

Free fall across the sky and mist

That shooting star wish…a feeling like this

On a beach with that ocean breeze sensation That chill in your hand from an icy drink or seeing your toes in the sand sink Relaxed and leaned back to get your dreams back

Chasing the sun rise to find inspiration from new dreams that Ripped from the seams and have them sown back

A feeling like…

NA, NA, NA, NA

A feeling like…

LA, LA, LA, LA

A feeling like this

A feeling like…

OH, OOH, OOOH, OH OHO

A feeling like…

DUM, DUM, DUM, DUM

A feeling like this

It’s that last song of the night when that white light shines bright At the climax of your drink when you feel just right

You let the music sink and clear away the worry you think Embrace that feeling of YOU that feeling you pursue

That feeling that binds you…interconnects you

Tristan and Isolde or Romeo and Juliet

A moment you truly felt, a feeling you truly meant

Reminisce in a feeling that commits hanging like a mountain mist To be his princess to her prince to be that tingle on your lips Inspiration is the path that lay before you

To follow stars or chase them

To hope for dreams or erase them

To find the Clyde to your Bonnie

A place in Philadelphia that’s always sunny

A feeling like this or a moment like that

To forget about the wall against your back

Embrace the euphoria until its climax

Chase a feeling like that to help a heart to nourish

To find meaning on a wish or bliss in a kiss

Finding everything that you miss in a feeling like this

A feeling like…

NA, NA, NA, NA

A feeling like…

LA, LA, LA, LA

A feeling like this

A feeling like…

OH, OOH, OOOH, OH, OHO

A feeling like…

DUM, DUM, DUM, DUM
