THE END

Mr. Cheshire Tails

[Interlude]

By

Robby Richardson

And through the darkness doth a light appear Salvation…temptation…neither or both

Yesterday’s image framed in the puzzle of the future

Who am I is the puzzle you help to complete

Am I mad or am I just me

That it all started here…unlike all the rest

It started with a single question like a test

Why is a raven like a writing desk

Mr. Cheshire Tails tells such wonder filled tales

Here I am again…here you knew I’d be…so predictably

Here they all expected me to return…expected me to go

You knew that I’d show…you know me the best…through rain and snow Know me better than all the rest and who would know

Who would have guessed that when I am low you help me to grow Through the dark and light…the good and bad

The wrong and right…the highs and lows

Throughout…

The mud…the blood…the heat…the cold

You’ve been my only friend…my own companion

The one I put my trust in, the one I walk hand in hand with I know I’m smart enough to disbelieve in all your tales

When you told me that the world understood I believed your fables Why do I always come to you to find the answers that I seek to no avail

So why do I always find myself talking to you over and over again without fail Mr. Cheshire Tails tells such wonderous fairy tales

You’ve never left…you’ve been by my side

You’ve journeyed next to me throughout the ride

I know I’m deluded enough to believe in all your lies

You are everything for me and nothing without me

A misinformed fool when it come from your stories that I clutch like jewels I know I’m naïve enough to believe your lies

You say…

We’re all mad down here and I am mad here down

You say…

It makes more sense the deeper the rabbit hole I disappear down You say…

That my reality is just another person’s madness

A window to their soul reveals the guilt of scars we shame Goodbye is the hardest word to get through

Mr. Cheshire Tails dreams such wonderous fantasies

Filled with fallacies and lies

How they call you brother, but nobody is ever by your side You tell me that I’m on my own…and you are there when I’m alone I see the soul of a broken man desperate in his clinging for a moment of his own So why is a raven like a writing desk that is the same of what you and I are meant

Nothing…everything…you’re the answer and the very puzzle Forever together in a wonderfully wondrous long struggle

Who cares…I don’t

I’m off with Jeffersons on airplanes with somebody I love The white rabbit is the navigator while I ride with you my allocator I know I am dumb enough to believe in all your tales

And it ends just like this

Why is a raven like a writing desk

Nevermore searching for wonder in fairy tales
