Now please little songbird why sing such a sad song Why lull such a sad tune with such a sad note

Compose a tranquil lullaby so please don’t fly away

Don’t leave me I pray don’t leave me with skies so gray

Please don’t say goodbye

Oh, sweet songbird of my life only requiring the need to learn flight How to teach to reach for the horizon

When the horizon always keeps rising

We always need to grow bigger wings to achieve greater things To accomplish the dreams, we wish to achieve

A sweet song will only take you so far

But I promise you darling your song will take you so far

Now please little songbird why sing such a sad song

Why lull such a sad tune with such a sad note

Compose a tranquil lullaby so please don’t fly away

Don’t leave me I pray don’t leave me with skies so gray

Please don’t say goodbye

Oh, little songbird don’t you cry, you can’t fly if you don’t try How do you let go with the hope that you’re taught everything you know Don’t fear what you feel inside

Don’t succumb to the fear just before the fall

Embrace what’s inside for fear means you’re still alive

And never fear to let go, never fear to fall, never fear to fail Because dad is here to give you the wind you’ll need to prevail Carry you to places with yellow brick roads and far over the rainbows Your story they claim they will know try to dimmer your light to mere faint glows Your song they claim to have heard and many times before

Ignore their words and sing for blue skies with sandy seashores So goodbye my little songbird

Sing your tune with new flights bound for new adventures, to new heights Let it define what’s inside and not succumb to the melancholy song that you cried Now hush my little songbird don’t sing a note

Daddy’s going to mend those broken wings

And if those broken wings won’t mend

Daddy will shed his feathers to help you transcend

And if you soar to high and you fear the fall

Daddy will hold you to help you rise above it all

And if those wings won’t fly and the songs left unsung

And remember when fall we are never done

And when that song breaks notes and disables singing

Now please little songbird why sing such a sad song

Why lull such a sad tune with such a sad note

Compose a tranquil lullaby so please don’t fly away

Don’t leave me I pray don’t leave me with skies so gray

Just remember who gave you your voice and song so fine

Taught you to fly through night and day
