THE END

I Jumped

By

Robby Richardson

This is a letter that I wrote to myself

To remind myself of the times when my sun had no shine

This is a letter that I wrote to myself to remind myself of the bad times And the hard times working with these cards of mine

So, when bad skies gather, I hold my head and gather

I burn forests and pick up the pen until I get sore wrists Clench my other fist and write out names on my blacklist

Remember the bad to embrace the good

Remember that I had to give everything just to endure

Look back at the road and “Salud” to what I withstood

In the end, they weren’t there so this one’s for you

Now jump

In the end…

It’s nothing I’ve never seen before…It is nothing brand new to me No sea is too far without a sail nor a breeze in them

I’ve been the Odysseus on an Odyssey with every breath taken in modesty To remind myself of the times that hit the hardest with hope labeled a discommodity Constantly reminding me of what I’ve lost on this road unpaved in front of me They won’t know…

The green from shake to a rat from a snake

Chasing the green in fear of red and blue mistakes

They won’t know…

Waiting in a car trying to keep warm for a mere twenty when more than just your tank is empty Worried about how far it will get me or whether to fill my belly So, believe me when I tell you to believe

And the advice that I give is one you should receive

And a warning you need to heed

Believe me I’ve been there…

In the dirt, in the mud, in the struggle, facing societies burdens, praying for me to buckle A jester with these problems I juggle and as they double the more I begin to crumble Weighted down by the hurt… In the cold shedding blood and rubbing off the dirt Believe me I’ve been there…

When the tears won’t stop falling and the dread keeps calling like spiders they’re crawling Rising for a job you have and must do dreading every day that you stay Trapped in every way and dread the dawn wishing to no longer move on They want you to fall…

They want you to beg…

On bended knee they WANT you to break…

Change is the hardest when you running to an end

Believe me I’ve been there…

Right path or left…a fork in the road…broken in choices of silent voices Nothing is right…

Nothing you do is right…

Nothing you don’t do is right…

Door A or Door B…the old high road or low Believe me I’ve been low fore only the low can show you how high one can go Believe me I’ve been there…

Literally in the rafters in the highest of the lows

Unaware of where to go but unafraid of the bout

Desperate for a job and willing to take anything you got just for a way out That worry of a monkey on your back always afraid of the pink slip or the sack To hide the real you in fear of the betrayal

Afraid of the Step on your neck on this ladder we ascent

Believe me I can…

Accept I’ve always been the underdog in the fight and always climb for new heights The horse to bet the whole farm on…The lord of the ring with a quest to embark on An Italian Stallion kind of creed…humble always to be meek…but still drive to achieve A rebel to the empire and set the world on fire

With this drive, with this hunger, with this desire

Oh, watch them all flee and the brave shake so cowardly

The wolf left back and returns from the shadows just to lead the pack Believe me I can…

Leave no doubt in the doubting and leave the Thomas’s to their pouting I mean Doubting, I believe a few minor edits shouldn’t discredit A real Thomas that leaves doubt in the seasoned and drops them back to a novice The hyenas seem to gather forgetting whose the real lion

Bring destruction that collapses Mayans…

Bring the Event to the Horizon…

I’m the Holly to a Rousey and the Buster of a Tyson

In the end…

Don’t worry about opinions, drama, or that heated gossip

You just be you and chase those dreams that drive you

It’s just another chapter, another tale, another story

Embrace the retelling, grow from the saga, embody my creative like a Brahma Ignoring glories watching it flee right before me

Ignore the world and finally embrace me and my stories

And you know what I did…

I jumped…

I stopped doing everything for them

I bet on their shouldn’t…

I raised on their couldn’t…

And went all in on their wouldn’t

They are just characters, but YOU write your story

I paid the cost embracing their frost but I embraced my own and THAT has made ALL the difference
