Chapter 1
The University's Grand Gala and a Peculiar Event

Part A: Graduation Glitz and Unfamiliar Faces

The university's final annual and magnificent function was at its peak, where top brilliant students and renowned personalities from across the country were present. Colorful lights sparkled on the large screens of the stadium-style auditorium, and the entire hall was illuminated with the echoes of joy. The primary purpose of this prestigious gala was to honor those young minds of the nation who had achieved remarkable feats in the field of science. Completely indifferent to the luxurious atmosphere of the hall, Alex Dean stood alone in a desolate corner at the very back.

The tips of Alex's fingers bore scars from old wounds he had earned by toiling in the city's workshops. Following his father's death in childhood, the mountain of poverty had crashed down upon him, and to extinguish the fire of hunger, he had been forced to work at iron furnaces. During those dark nights, sitting all alone, he had acquired mastering in coding that even senior professors did not possess. Yet, behind the dazzling lights of this magnificent gala, a freezing silence was brewing that no one else could perceive.

On the stage, respectable figures of the country were ostensibly present, including that philanthropic leader Coleman Cross, whom the world regarded as a great messiah. He was encouraging every youth present in the hall, and the kind smile on his face was winning everyone's heart. Suddenly, a formal announcement regarding the start of the ceremony echoed from the hall's large speakers, instantly calming the laughing crowd for a moment. Upon the arrival of the VIP guests, the students unleashed a storm of applause, but Alex's sensitive gaze was monitoring for some unforeseen omen.

Representatives of the charitable organization were making grand speeches about shaping the futures of the young generation, which sounded extremely captivating. However, Alex's sharp mind sensed danger bells and the stench of deceit from within this picturesque framework. The question repeatedly arose in his mind as to why people holding such massive corporate funding were taking an interest in this ordinary university. During the event, when Coleman Cross took the microphone and praised the youths, the entire hall erupted into slogans in his honor.

Yet, behind the veil of this praise, a deep psychological pressure was hidden, gradually wrapping all students within its siege. The rigid and expressionless faces of the security guards stationed at the hall's doors made the existing tension in the atmosphere even more perilous. Alex placed his hand on the hacking tool tucked inside his coat pocket; his heart testified that this event was no celebration. And thus, behind the curtains of this glittering gala, a terrifying game was about to begin from which there was no way back.

Part B: The Philanthropic Face, Bright Promises, and Growing Suspicion

The so-called philanthropic leader Coleman Cross, present on the stage, made grand claims of changing the world with a mysterious smile. There was such a hypnotic effect in his voice that even the most capable and brilliant students sitting in the hall were sinking into his spell. He announced that his organization would provide the brightest coders with a shared digital platform that would change human history. Hearing the name of the project, the faces of all the other students lit up with excitement, and they considered it the greatest opportunity of their careers. However, the expressions on Alex Dean's face were stern, because he was well aware of the dark dealings hidden behind such massive institutions.

His sharp mind was evaluating every word of this speech, trying to understand what the real purpose was behind all this affection and cooperation. The chief guest specially praised those poor and lonely youths who had risen through their own hard work without any major background support. Hearing this, everyone in the hall looked toward Alex because his story had become an example within the university. Yet, instead of feeling proud of this praise, Alex felt a sense of anxiety as to why these people knew so much about his past. Amidst the thunderous applause at the end of the speech, it was announced that they would personally meet select students to make them part of this project.

A strange race spread among all the students to accept this offer, revealing the blindness of the crowd. The professors and the university administration were also thrilled with this major offer because it was going to bring great prestige to their institution. Only Alex stood motionless in his place and prepared to flatly refuse to become a part of this crowd. Despite the fragrance of progress hanging in the air, Alex's sixth sense was warning him that this was no reward, but rather a trap. In the next phase of the event, all the students were called to a special hall for refreshments and meetings, where security was tightened significantly.

The gazes of the guards clad in long coats standing at the doors were so sharp that they resembled a military unit rather than ordinary men. When Alex took a step toward this hall, he felt a wave of fear, as if he were walking into a prison rather than a palace. As soon as they entered the hall, the operatives of the charitable organization began recording their digital credentials under the guise of biometric verification. This process was so suspicious that Alex moved to the side and attempted to capture the signals of this system on his small device. And the moment his gadget powered on, a dangerous warning flashed on the screen, proving that whatever was happening here was entirely unlawful.

Chapter 2
The Underground World and Macross's Vice

Part A: Awakening and the High-Tech Prison

Upon regaining consciousness, when Alex Dean removed the black blindfold from his eyes, there was no ray of light before him, only dim neon-red bulbs glowing. He was imprisoned in an extremely modern cell made of steel bars, where the air was thick with the scent of sharp chemicals and burnt plastic. In the other cells surrounding him lay unconscious those brilliant university students who, just a few hours earlier, had been shown dreams of a golden future. Security cameras mounted on the walls were rotating like a predatory beast, their red eyes keeping a close watch on every prisoner's breath. Suddenly, the thunderous sound of heavy boots echoed down the long steel corridor, sending a chill of suspense through this desolate and terrifying environment.

The door of the glass cabin in the middle of the corridor opened, and a cold, emotionless, and dangerous figure emerged, whom everyone called Macross. There was no sign of human emotions on Macross's face; his sharp and piercing gaze felt as though it penetrated deep inside every prisoner. He walked straight up to Alex's cell, swiped an electronic tablet he held in his hand across the screen, and smiled sarcastically. Macross stated in a chilling tone that those whom they considered the pride of the university were actually mere raw feed and tools for this global system. Gritting his teeth in anger, Alex attempted to move closer to him, but a high-voltage current pulsing across the cell forced him to step back.

Macross made it clear that neither any law would work here nor was there any path left for them to survive and return to the outside world. At his signal, two armed operatives stepped forward, unlocked the cell's electronic lock, and dragged Alex out by force to be brought to the central terminal. Passing through the corridor, Alex surveyed the large labs on the side where complex maps of the world's most dangerous codes were being drafted on massive computers. Forcibly seating him on a chair, Macross switched on a complex and encrypted screen in front of him that was miles beyond the reach of any ordinary global system.

He ordered that either Alex code this new digital virus of his own free will, or his companions would be eliminated one by one. Alex's blood boiled, but despite this threat, his sharp mind began internally mapping the physical route of the lab's main server. He knew that direct resistance would result in nothing but death, so he had to make a move from right within Macross's terrifying trap. Outwardly, he placed his hands on the keyboard and began staring intently at the screen's code as if he were beginning to yield to their pressure. Seeing this change, Macross was satisfied for a moment and stepped back to look at the security device he held in his hand. But this entire underground lab had no idea that this ordinary-looking boy was about to plant a time bomb right inside their own system.

Part B: The Lab's Inner View and Alex's Secret Move

Macross walked back into his cabin, while his two armed guards stood right behind Alex like statues of stone. The complex code running on the screen was entirely different from ordinary programming, designed to hack into a massive global system. Alex placed his fingers on the keyboard and pretended to be busy debugging this terrifying virus. However, the true target of his gaze was the main server frame housed inside a large black machine situated right in the corner of the lab. Utilizing his old hacking expertise, he began crafting an extremely subtle micro-script that could bypass detection.

The other prisoner students inside the lab were still sitting on the floor in a state of terror, with security guards keeping a constant watch over them. Macross emerged from the glass cabin, walked up to Alex, and stared intently at the code running across his screen. His cold and menacing voice echoed that if the main firewall was not cracked within two hours, the consequences would be horrific for everyone. Without panicking, Alex raised his head and replied in an utterly fearless tone that breaking such a massive system required time and accurate data. Seeing his attitude, Macross eyed him with suspicion for a moment, but then turned back toward his cabin.

Alex's heart was beating rapidly because he knew that even the slightest mistake could push him and his companions straight into the jaws of death. He began searching for a secret bypass cable to connect his script to the underground lab's main network. Tucked away within the web of wires beneath the lab desk, he found an old and inactive port that had likely been part of a previous system. He connected his compact hacking tool to this legacy port to route signals directly to the main server. A small green light suddenly flickered on the screen, confirming that his tool had successfully breached the lab's internal firewall.

Now he was in a position not only to temporarily jam the lab's cameras but also to transmit a subtle alert to external systems. Yet, before doing so, he had to acquire the password for the digital locks of all his companions' cells so they could be freed at a moment's notice. He quickly ran a digital sniffer within his code that automatically began capturing the passwords of all nearby cells. A dictionary of passwords started compiling in the corner of the screen, and the progress bar rapidly reached fifty percent. And before Macross could return to check on him, Alex had fully prepared to make his next move.

Part C: The Secret Move, Danger, and the First Major Turning Point

The progress bar slowly reached eighty percent, and the passwords for all nearby cells were being saved in the dictionary. Suddenly, a red flash of light flickered on the main screen, meaning a security scanner from Macross's central server was coming to check the port. For a fraction of a second, Alex's heart stopped, but with extreme agility, he hid his script and wiped all traces clean. Normal coding reappeared on the screen at the exact same moment the glass cabin door opened once again. The sound of Macross's footsteps was sharper and more dangerous than before; he walked straight up and stood right behind Alex.

His cold gaze stared into every corner of the screen as if sniffing out deceit even within this ordinary-looking code. Macross checked the status of the central firewall using his hand tablet, which was still running under normal conditions, so no suspicion arose. He said in a sarcastic tone that time was running out and if results were not delivered in the next half hour, he would start punishing the prisoners. With an utterly calm face, Alex nodded in agreement as if he were trembling entirely from his fear. Delivering the threat, Macross turned back toward his cabin, and the moment he left, Alex let out a sigh of relief.

He knew he now had only a few minutes left because his secret sniffer had completed its task and prepared the file containing all passwords. He pulled out a tiny chip resembling a flash drive and immediately transferred all those passwords from his hacking tool onto it. Now, the key to the digital locks of all his companions' cells was in his possession, marking the single greatest first step toward escape. However, to open the doors on such a massive scale, it was necessary to shut down the main server's power breaker for a single second. If he brought down the power breaker, emergency lights would instantly turn on across the entire lab, and the security guards would become immediately alert.

Therefore, he had to wait for a time when some major distraction from above or an opportunity arose that would make his task easier. Then suddenly, the loud noise of the large elevator descending from above echoed, meaning an important guest or cargo was arriving in the underground lab. The attention of all security guards shifted toward this new arrival and the elevator doors, and they moved from their positions to stand at attention. A dangerous gleam sparked in Alex's eyes because he realized this was the golden opportunity he had been waiting for. And before the guards could return to their positions, he placed his finger on the enter button to cut the main breaker.

Chapter 3
Underground Escape and the First Explosion

Part A: Power Breaker Down and Commotion

At the sound of the elevator opening, the attention of all the security guards shifted in that direction, and at that very moment, Alex pressed the enter button. As soon as the enter button was pressed, the main electricity of the entire underground lab cut off for a single second, and deep darkness blanketed all sides. Before the emergency neon lights flickered on, Alex used his chip to simultaneously unlock the digital locks of all nearby cells. Hearing the ticking sound of the cells opening, the remaining prisoner students were astonished, unable to understand what was happening. Swiftly emerging from his cell, Alex spoke in a loud voice, warning all the students to immediately come out and follow behind him.

Due to the darkness and this sudden commotion, the security guards fell into severe confusion and hesitation. The new operatives stepping out of the elevator also began readying their guns upon witnessing this chaos and opened blindfire. The rattling of gunshots inside the lab and the shrill sound of alarms had turned this terrifying location into a battlefield. Alex grabbed one of his companions, pushed forward, and sprinted toward the lab's emergency exit that he had spotted on the map. Two security guards attempted to corner them, but Alex picked up a discarded electro-shock device and hurled it at them. Struck by the current, both guards dropped right there to the floor, and the remaining students mustered the courage to try and secure their weapons.

Macross, sitting in the monitoring room, had gone mad with rage over this sudden rebellion and power outage. Screaming into his headset, he ordered all guards to bring the prisoners back dead or alive at any cost. The automatic cameras mounted on the corridor ceiling were now tracking the prisoners with gun pointers instead of red lights. Constantly looking back, Alex was encouraging his companions so that no one would lag behind out of fear. Running together, they reached the rusted iron door that served as the only exit out of this underground dungeon. However, this door was secured with a massive biometric and digital code lock that could not be opened by ordinary means.

Alex immediately connected his hacking tool to this door panel to crack its main motherboard. From behind, Macross's special operatives were rapidly advancing down that same corridor with the sound of heavy boots. And before that door could open, the silhouettes of Macross's armed squad began to clearly emerge around the corner of the corridor.

Part B: The Door Struggle and the Storm of Firing

Alex's fingers were moving across the small screen of the hacking tool with lightning speed as the code's password was being cracked. The armed guards approaching from behind opened blindfire, and bullets ricocheted off the corridor walls, sending sparks flying. One of the student boys screamed out in terror, but Alex's companion pulled him over and quickly hid him behind a large iron pillar. On the hacking screen, the progress bar had reached ninety-nine percent, but a firewall shield thrown up by the system created a roadblock. Macross's operatives were now so close around the corner of the corridor that the sound of their boots was clearly audible.

Without panicking, Alex ran an emergency command on his device that shattered that final shield. With a loud click, the automatic lock of the heavy iron door opened, and it slid slightly outward. Alex pushed the door open with all his might and shoved all his companions into the dark, tunnel-like passage. The guards approached and intensified their firing, but Alex leaped inside the door and immediately dropped the outer emergency shutter. As soon as the shutter fell, all the enemy bullets struck the thick iron curtain and dropped back down, failing to find a target. This section of the tunnel was intensely dark, and the sharp scent of sewage and old chemicals filled the air, suffocating their breath.

The students were bumping into each other due to the darkness, but Alex turned on his mobile's small flashlight to guide the way. This tunnel looked like a part of old, dark mines that stretched for miles to emerge into the city's wilderness or old drainage systems. On the other side of the shutter, Macross's operatives had begun trying to cut through the iron door using hammers and electric cutters. The screeching sound of their tools echoed inside the tunnel, signaling that they had virtually no time to waste. Alex ordered everyone to run straight ahead toward the right without stopping, as that was the path leading toward the city.

They were all running blindly along this muddy and rocky path to somehow escape out of this well of death. During this long journey through the tunnel, broken pipes leaked water rapidly in several places. Alex was walking at the very rear to ensure none of his companions were left behind and to keep an eye on the situation. And far ahead in the darkness, a circular patch of light appeared, signaling the end of the tunnel and the outside world.

Part C: The Tunnel's End, Freedom, and a New Beginning

As they moved toward that circular ring of light, a surge of renewed hope raced through the footsteps of all the students. This final opening of the tunnel emerged in the middle of an old, deserted forest where there was no sign of human habitation for miles. One by one, they crawled out of the narrow opening and began taking deep breaths of fresh air, the ultimate symbol of life. Alex signaled everyone to immediately hide within the dense shadows of trees and bushes so no one could spot them. From deep inside the tunnel behind them, the faint echoes of tools could still be heard, meaning the shutter could not hold much longer.

Some of the students had injured feet and were trembling violently from fear and sheer exhaustion. Alex encouraged his companions, telling them to begin walking toward the city immediately rather than stopping here. However, he also knew that Macross possessed cutting-edge drones and tracking systems capable of easily hunting them down in the forest. To reach a safe haven, they had to completely cut themselves off from the digital world and discard their mobile phone SIM cards. Everyone immediately removed their phone batteries and SIM cards, burying them in the earth so no signals could be traced.

Traveling across this desolate terrain, they crossed an old freight road where the distant lights of the city twinkled far ahead. A single strategy was now active in Alex's sharp mind: to root out and destroy this network of oppression and deceit. He knew he could not combat this powerful system alone, so he needed trustworthy individuals who would stand by his side. Reaching an old and anonymous corner of the city, they temporarily took refuge in the basement of an abandoned building. Sitting there, Alex powered on his hacking tool once again to check if his chip was still capturing any signals.

Fortunately, the chip was entirely secure, holding all the vital secrets and passwords of Macross's lab trapped inside it. Yet, a message suddenly flashed on the screen that stunned everyone present: it was a public broadcast from the philanthropic leader Coleman Cross. He was proudly announcing on screen that the project to introduce modern technology to the youth was proceeding successfully. Witnessing this vile drama and deceit, Alex clenched his fists tightly, and the fire of vengeance blazed fiercely within his eyes.

Chapter 4

Part A: The Basement's Silence and the Next Strategy

In that gloomy and dark corner of the basement, the noise of the outside world had completely ceased, and a profound silence prevailed everywhere. Exhausted by fatigue and fear, the students had sprawled out right on the floor, while Alex sat alone in front of an old wooden desk. He connected the tiny chip in his possession to the laptop's USB port, causing all the data to flash across the screen. On the display, all the internal server files of Macross's lab, camera routes, and the profiles of the prisoners lit up. One of Alex's companions walked close to him and asked what their next step would be and how they would survive this storm.

In a solemn tone, Alex replied that if they remained silent now, this network would devour thousands of other brilliant youths across the city. With the help of the passwords stored inside this chip, they could now hack into the funding accounts of this philanthropic organization from any corner of the world. However, to do so, they needed a powerful and secure proxy server that would remain invisible to the systems of the police or Macross. Utilizing his old coding experience, Alex began crafting a new multi-layer encrypted signal framework. During this, the siren of a police patrol vehicle echoed in the alley outside the basement, causing everyone's hearts to skip a beat for a moment.

Holding their breath, everyone looked toward the door, but the vehicle passed by into the darkness without stopping, and the danger averted. Alex refocused his attention on his work, extracting and preparing a secret transmission file from the chip. This file was no ordinary message; it was the first digital bundle of high-security evidence from Macross's underground lab. He decided to upload this evidence directly to the secure portal of a few prominent and fearless investigative journalists on the internet. As he clicked to press the upload button, Coleman Cross's smiling face flashed across his mind.

He knew that as soon as this data went public, the mask of the philanthropic organization would slip, and they would come after him with full force. Yet, there was no turning back, so without wasting a single second, he cast this secret data out into the world. On the screen, the progress bar surged forward rapidly, and within mere seconds, the file successfully reached the dark net and the media portal. A faint morning glow began to appear outside the basement, and city life was returning to its daily routine. And at that very moment, an encrypted chat message from an unknown number flashed brightly across Alex's laptop screen.

Part B: The Unknown Message and the Next Threat

The brief and mysterious sentence glowed brightly on the laptop screen inside the flashing encrypted message. The message stated that the data he had uploaded had reached major media houses around the world within minutes. Visibly panicked, Alex's companion asked whether the sender of this message was a friend or a new enemy. Repeatedly, Alex attempted to trace the source, but the signal was routing simultaneously through fifteen different proxy servers across the globe. The meaning was clear: someone else was operating inside the system, waging a war against Macross and Coleman Cross.

Tension thickened further within the basement atmosphere because they knew their hideout could not remain concealed for long. At that very moment, two black high-performance SUVs silently pulled up and parked in the alley outside the basement. The doors opened, and several trained operatives clad in long coats stepped out with extreme agility. Silencer-equipped guns rested in their hands, and the sound of their footsteps clearly indicated they were professional assassins. Activating the security camera frame on his laptop screen, Alex checked the angle covering the outer street.

Seeing those thugs on the screen made his blood boil, as he realized their digital signal had been tracked. He immediately signaled all his companions to duck their heads and bodies and hide in the rear corner of the basement. A heavy kick landed on the door from outside, causing the old wooden panels to shake violently. Just as the door was about to shatter, Alex smashed the rusted glass of the basement's back window, creating an exit route. One by one, all the students squeezed through that small window and began fleeing toward the neighboring alley.

Alex emerged last, and before leaving, he planted a small time device designed to jam enemy tracking systems. As soon as they reached the corner of the next street, a muffled explosion inside the basement temporarily halted the enemy's advance. Darting through dark and narrow lanes, they sprinted toward a much safer and older industrial zone of the city. Chilly wind gusts battered their faces, yet despite exhaustion, there was not the slightest reduction in the speed of their strides. And thus, this journey of concealment brought them to that old, abandoned warehouse in the industrial zone, where they barely managed to catch their breath.

Part C: The Industrial Zone Sanctuary and the New Ally

Large rusted iron containers and broken cranes stood scattered across the old and abandoned warehouse in the industrial zone. The students were now completely exhausted, and heavy traces of fear and helplessness were clearly visible on their faces. Alex seated everyone inside a relatively safe container and stepped outside to survey the surroundings. The laptop containing all the secrets of Macross's lab and the encrypted file was still in his hands. Suddenly, another flash message from that same unknown number appeared on his laptop screen, clearer than the previous one.

The message stated that if they wanted to escape the clutches of the police and Macross, they should immediately head to the water tower building right across from them. Alex's mind instantly went on high alert, wondering whether this was a trap or if someone genuinely wanted to help them. Instructing his companions to stay put, he cautiously approached the tall water tower all by himself. Climbing the rusted steel ladder of the tower, he clutched the small electronic rod concealed inside his coat. Reaching the circular platform atop the tower, he saw a figure wearing a black overcoat, their face partially hidden beneath a hood.

The stranger stood in silence, gazing out at the distant city lights, holding a small hacking console in their hand. Maintaining a safe distance, Alex asked in a stern tone who he was and why he was being tracked. Turning slightly, the stranger pulled back his hood, revealing sharp, deep eyes filled with a strange resolve and confidence. Introducing himself, the stranger explained that he too was waging a lone war against the very system Coleman Cross had imposed upon the world. The stranger revealed that Macross's lab was merely a beginning, and the roots of this entire network extended deep into major corporate offices across the globe.

Handing Alex a USB drive, he explained that it contained codes capable of permanently blocking Macross's central server. Alex looked closely at the offer, realizing that this solo battle now needed to be transformed into an organized network. From the height of the water tower, the distant red tail lights of Macross's vehicles could be seen flashing on the street below. Alex secured the USB drive provided by the stranger into the inner pocket of his jacket and began mapping out the next course of action. And thus, with this new and dangerous alliance, the next phase of their long and arduous war had officially begun.

Chapter 5
Part A: The Water Tower Meeting and the Secret of the USB

Standing beside that mysterious stranger on the cold, breezy platform of the water tower, Alex was assessing the situation. The stranger introduced himself as Jackson, explaining that he had been gathering evidence against this corporate mafia alone for the past several months. Jackson warned Alex that Macross was no longer confined to just that lab; he had hijacked all the digital networks across the city. Pulling the USB drive given by Jackson from the inner pocket of his jacket, Alex checked its security level. The codes inside the drive were so advanced that ordinary computers would automatically crash upon opening them.

With a smile, Jackson said these were not ordinary codes but rather the very link to the system that connected directly to Coleman Cross's central financial server. When Alex ran a small fragment of this drive on his old laptop, high-security firewalls lit up across the screen. Seeing this, he realized Jackson was no ordinary hacker, but an expert with deep access within this global system. Down on the street, the red tail lights of Macross's patrolling vehicles had pulled up and stopped right near the water tower. Jackson immediately signaled Alex to descend, as there was no other route aside from the tower's rusted steel ladder.

Both of them agilely began climbing down the steps, while the sound of the guards' boots echoed on the street outside. Stepping down into the darkness of the industrial zone, the two rushed swiftly toward the abandoned container where the rest of the students had taken refuge. Opening the container door and stepping inside, they found the students' faces shrouded in deep fear and uncertainty. Alex introduced all his companions to Jackson, assuring them that they were no longer alone in this war. Jackson comforted the students, stating that he had a secure vehicle ready to get them out of this industrial sector.

Approaching an old delivery van parked at the rear of the warehouse, Jackson opened its back door. One by one, everyone took shelter inside the van, while Alex and Jackson took the front seats to manage the route. Jackson started the engine, turned off the headlights, and steered the van out from the shadows of the containers onto the main road. Macross's operatives had reached the water tower by then, but due to the darkness, they failed to spot the departing van. And thus, empowered by this new alliance, they slipped out of that dangerous zone and headed toward another secure location in the city.

Part B: The Safe Haven and the New Digital Plan

Sitting inside the dark cabin of the van, they traveled through the city's long and deserted roads, finally arriving in a secure suburban area. Jackson parked the van inside an old, abandoned warehouse where there was no chance of anyone from the outside getting suspicious. All the students stepped out of the van; their faces now bore clear traces of courage and resolve rather than the fear they felt earlier. Jackson locked the warehouse shutter from the inside and turned on a dim battery light that illuminated the entire room. Placing his laptop on an old wooden table, Alex reconnected the USB drive provided by Jackson to it.

This time, a complex 3D network map appeared on the screen, directly linked to the main server of Coleman Cross's foundation. Jackson explained that this network was not merely limited to stealing funds; it was a project designed to control the minds of the city's youth. Reviewing the codes, Alex stated that if they launched a massive digital assault on this main server, their entire system could crash. However, to accomplish this, they needed to simultaneously hack physical routers installed at three different locations to bypass the main firewall. Jackson agreed, noting that the first of these routers was installed on the top floor of the city's central corporate tower.

One of the capable young students stepped forward, stating that he was thoroughly familiar with the tower's interior layout because he had previously interned there. Hearing this, a wave of relief washed over Alex and Jackson's faces, as they now had someone on the inside who could guide the way. Sitting around the table, they formulated a dangerous yet solid plan to infiltrate the corporate tower and reach the router. Under this plan, Alex and Jackson would command the digital assault, while the rest of the team would cover logistics and signal sources.

Outside, the darkness of the night was deepening, and the lights of the city's towering skyscrapers in the distance looked like an ancient fortress. Alex encouraged all his team members, reminding them that they were now abandoning a defensive posture to strike directly at the enemy's stronghold. Jackson checked the compact weapons and hacking gadgets in his possession and completed the distribution process among everyone. A silent resolve rested on each person's face, knowing that failure this time meant nothing less than death or eternal enslavement. Hacking the live feeds of the corporate tower's security cameras on his laptop screen, Alex secured the angles for himself.

And thus, sitting inside that safe haven, they finalized the ultimate, decisive script to strike straight at the heart of the enemy.

Part C: The Corporate Tower Attack and the Digital Siege

In the dead of night, when the city's major thoroughfares fell completely silent, the solitary van slipped quietly into the corporate tower's rear garage. With extreme precision, Jackson parked the vehicle in a blind spot hidden entirely from the sweep of security cameras. Alex and his young companion, who knew the building's internal layout inside and out, readied their respective hacking kits. The tower's rear service door remained locked, but within seconds, the young man bypassed its digital lock using his smart console.

The door opened with a soft click, and both of them slipped silently into the inner corridor with utmost caution. Faint blue corridor lights cast long shadows where the distant footsteps of security guards echoed, prompting them to instantly duck behind a concrete pillar. Once the guards passed, they sprinted toward the service lift leading straight to the upper floor. Jackson had already remotely hacked the access code for this service elevator, allowing the doors to slide open noiselessly the moment the button was pressed.

As the lift ascended, Alex checked the live status of the main server's firewalls on his laptop screen. Faint green lines flickered across the display, confirming that their infiltration had yet to trigger any alarms. Within minutes, the elevator chimed softly at the designated floor, the doors parting to reveal a luxuriously appointed central hall. This floor housed Coleman Cross's private server room, where the master cables of all city networks converged. Stepping forward, the young companion looped the security camera feed so that any movement inside would remain hidden from outside monitors.

Alex pulled the USB drive given by Jackson from his bag and plugged it directly into the master server's port. A long cascade of code began racing down the screen as the server's firewalls collapsed one by one. Suddenly, a faint siren wailed outside the hall, accompanied by a flashing red warning light indicating that the system had detected a breach. Rather than panicking, Alex flew his fingers across the keyboard, forcing the download speed to hit maximum capacity. A large prompt flashed on the screen confirming that Macross's main database was now completely under their control.

They yanked the USB drive free and bolted toward the rear exit before closing security guards could converge on their position. And thus, having successfully executed this hazardous corporate assault, they unleashed the opening salvo of a brand-new digital storm.

Chapter 6
Part A: Emergency Alert on Screen and Tracing

Successfully escaping the corporate tower, the two of them returned to the old warehouse to join their team. Alex immediately placed his laptop on the table, switched on the direct screen, and displayed all the acquired data on the monitor. Stepping close and taking a look, a wide smile appeared on Jackson's face because the master server was now entirely in their possession. However, this joy could not last long as the laptop's entire screen suddenly flashed with red warning lights. Macross's central digital defense system had traced their attack and was now counter-hacking their proxy source.

The internal processor sounds of the laptop grew intense, and its cooling fan began spinning at high speed. Instead of panicking, Alex instantly flew his hands across the keyboard to block this retaliatory virus from the enemy. Jackson started laying down new layers of firewalls on his console to completely mask the warehouse's IP address. On the screen, the traffic graph of incoming data from the opposite side was rising rapidly, belonging to Macross's hacking team. At that moment, Macross was going mad with rage inside his secret cabin because his most secure system had been breached.

He commanded his team to trace this IP location at any cost and destroy its physical database. Bathed in sweat, Alex stated that they were dropping a digital time bomb into the enemy's system that would crash their server in the next ten minutes. The battery lights of the solitary van parked outside the warehouse suddenly dimmed as the electrical load surged far beyond capacity. Holding their breath, all the students stood in front of the screen, watching every single moment of this thrilling digital warfare. A countdown had begun on the screen, leaving nine minutes before Macross's defense could completely collapse.

Suddenly, their connection signal dropped by fifty percent, meaning the enemy had smashed through the first layer of their firewall. Jackson rapidly ran an emergency command that routed their signal and shifted it to a server in another country. The enemy's counter-attack struck right at that moment, colliding with the fake location and failing, leaving their server secure. On the final second of the countdown, Alex's fingers struck the enter button and launched the virus. And thus, in the opening round of this reciprocal digital war, they shook Macross's system to its core.

Part B: Server Crash and the Enemy's New Trap

In the very next second, the digital virus launched by Alex thoroughly crippled Macross's central server. On the laptop screen, Macross's three major main systems turned red one after another and went completely offline. The old battery lights inside the warehouse restored their illumination with a sharp flash, easing the tense atmosphere somewhat. Breathing a sigh of relief, Jackson remarked that they had dealt the enemy a devastating blow that he would remember for a long time. Yet, Alex's face remained clouded with concern because he knew Macross was not the type to surrender easily.

Based on his experience, the enemy's reaction to the collapse of such a massive server would be swift and extremely dangerous. Sure enough, the next moment an unknown emergency signal flared on their monitor, connecting directly to the city's police and security networks. To cover up his defeat, Macross had ordered a total lockdown of the digital grid across this entire sector. Suddenly, the wailing sirens of two police patrol vehicles drew close on the street outside the warehouse. Peering cautiously through a gap in the window, Jackson saw those police cars patrolling the immediate vicinity of the warehouse.

They had only minutes left to evacuate before this old warehouse turned into their final prison cell. Alex quickly packed his laptop into his bag and warned all the students to board the van immediately. Jackson flipped the van's main ignition switch, keeping the headlights completely off this time to avoid identification in the dark. All the students swiftly took shelter inside the van, and Alex securely locked the door from the inside. With expert precision, Jackson steered the van out through the warehouse's rear secret exit, which opened directly onto a tunnel-like path.

A police cruiser pulled up right in front of their warehouse, but failed to spot them due to the darkness and the cover of the containers. The van crept slowly through the narrow alleys of the old industrial zone, heading toward the highway leading out of the city. Chilly night wind battered the van's windows, and a restless excitement stirred within everyone's heart. Alex knew that Macross would now leverage not only technology but his entire personal network to track them down. And thus, immediately following this temporary victory, they had to head out to face a new and much greater threat.

Part C: The Highway Journey and the Next Destination

The van raced down the dark stretch of the highway, where there was no sign of traffic for miles around. Jackson took the wheel while Alex sat in the back seat, checking the battery status of his laptop. Exhausted mentally by this long and perilous escape, the students sat quietly in silence. Looking back at their drained faces, Alex realized they urgently needed a safe house. Slowing his speed, Jackson glanced at an old roadside sign indicating a nearby town a short distance away.

He mentioned that a short distance from this desolate highway lived an old friend of his who could help them with temporary shelter. Cautiously, Alex asked whether that person was entirely safe and detached from this global mafia and Coleman Cross's network. Jackson assured him that the man lived a quiet life completely cut off from the digital world, remaining off everyone's radar. Turning onto a rough and rugged path, the van began traveling toward a desolate suburban area surrounded by bushes.

In the dim light of the vehicle, an old, stonemason-crafted farmhouse surrounded by tall brick walls came into view. Pulling up in front of the farmhouse's large iron gate, Jackson pulled the handbrake and completely killed the lights. He gave a specific signal with the van's horn, and a few seconds later, a small window cracked open from within. A middle-aged man peered out into the darkness, and recognizing Jackson, immediately unlocked the heavy main gate. The van crept slowly inside the courtyard, and everyone drew a deep, collective sigh of temporary relief.

Noticing their exhaustion and hunger, the farmhouse owner promptly ushered them inside a spacious room. Alex placed his laptop on the table, verifying that despite Macross's assault, all the data remained completely secure. Yet, a new location signal suddenly popped up on the screen, indicating a spot just a few kilometers away from this farmhouse. The meaning was crystal clear: tracking their old signal, the enemy had begun tightening the net around this very region. A dangerous glint flashed once again in Alex's eyes, knowing that this moment of rest was going to be short-lived.

And thus, right upon reaching this new, concealed hideout, they were forced to rise once more and prepare for war.

Chapter 7

Part A: Sudden Raid and Terrifying Ambush

Inside the semi-dark room of the farmhouse, along with the ticking of the clock, the footsteps of death were advancing in the dark outside. Suddenly, Alex's laptop began beeping loudly, and a red warning flashed on the screen indicating that a nearby scanner had picked up their signal. Before they could take any action, the terrifying sound of something heavy crashing against the large iron gate of the farmhouse echoed out. Panicking, the elderly owner of the farmhouse rushed toward the window, but upon seeing the scene outside, a scream escaped his lips.

Outside in the darkness, dozens of armed commandos dressed in black attire had completely surrounded the entire compound from all sides. In their hands were state-of-the-art assault rifles whose night-vision sights were targeting every corner of this dark farmhouse. Jackson swiftly drew the pistol from inside his coat and ordered everyone to drop flat onto the ground immediately. Just then, the main wooden door of the farmhouse shattered into pieces from the inside with a powerful explosion. The moment they entered, the enemy opened indiscriminate fire, and bullets chipped away the wall plaster while whizzing right over their heads.

Terrified, the students cowered on the ground, and a sharp smell of gunpowder along with screams filled every corner of the room. With extreme agility, Alex crawled to take cover beneath the table where his laptop was still on and close to completing a data transfer. These operatives of Macross were no ordinary guards; they were professional assassins who had come with no intention of leaving anyone alive. When the farmhouse owner tried to flee in fear toward one side, a silenced bullet dropped him right at the doorway frame. Seeing this ruthlessness ignited a fire in Alex's heart, but he knew that cool calculation was needed far more than anger right now.

Jackson took a position behind a pillar and, returning fire, managed to wound an advancing commando of the enemy. However, the enemy's numbers were so vast that every second they were tightening the circle inside this small room. Looking at his laptop screen, Alex saw that Macross's main server was currently monitoring this operation live from just three kilometers away. He immediately made a dangerous decision: if they were going to die here, why not blast Macross's main server permanently before perishing. His fingers trembled fiercely over the keyboard to command the final and most lethal virus, yet his resolve remained steadfast.

And before the enemy's boots could touch the threshold of this room, he placed his finger squarely on the enter button.

Part B: The Final Digital Strike on the Edge of Death

Without losing even a single second, Alex pressed his finger down on the enter button to plunge the final virus straight into the enemy's system. A red-zone siren blared across the laptop screen, and a tremendous digital explosion-like crash commenced on Macross's central server. One of the commandos standing at the room's doorway aimed his rifle straight at Alex and squeezed the trigger to fire. Right at that moment, Jackson shot with lightning speed, knocking the gun out of the commando's hand and sending him crashing to the floor. However, the other commandos opened blind, heavy fire that riddled the room's windowpanes and wooden panels with bullets.

Trembling with fear and terror, the students cowered, and one of the boys fell to the ground slightly injured after taking a bullet to the arm. Alex immediately snapped shut his laptop and, working together with Jackson, dragged the wounded student behind the cover of the rear wardrobe. That back section of the farmhouse opened onto a small secret window leading toward green bushes and the rear fields. With a single kick, Jackson knocked the rusted window glass and frame outward to clear an escape route. When the commandos broke through the door and stepped inside, thick smoke and gunpowder haze blinded them from seeing anything clearly.

Alex first ordered all the students to leap one by one through that window onto the soft soil of the fields outside. Taking a rear defensive position, Jackson fired a few shots into the air to divert the enemy's attention away from them for a moment. Supporting the wounded student, Alex also jumped out of the small window into the darkness, landing straight in the grass. Jackson immediately vaulted out from behind to join them, while a relentless barrage of bullets continued inside the farmhouse behind them. Disregarding their lives, they began running toward the fields under the cloak of darkness and the shadows of dense trees, crawling along the way.

By the time the enemy commandos reached the back door, the group had slipped far away under the cover of darkness and fog. Running across the raw soil and thorny bushes of the suburban fields left them out of breath, but there was no justification to stop. From the farmhouse roof behind them, the enemy's flashlight beams pierced the darkness, searching all around their vicinity. They ducked and hid beneath a bridge built along the edge of a deep canal, where evading the enemy's eyes was relatively easier. And thus, even after narrowly escaping the jaws of death, they remained trapped deep within the enemy's grip.

Part C: The Canal Bridge and the Next Hiding Place

Beneath the rapid, turbulent flow of the canal and the deep shadows cast under the bridge, they struggled to steady their breathing. Blood continued to ooze from the injured student's arm, and the freezing cold was turning his lips blue. Tearing the inner lining of his coat, Jackson tightly wrapped a bandage around the boy's arm to staunch the flow of blood. Up on the road, the roaring engines of Macross's commando vehicles and the heavy thud of their boots could be distinctly heard. They were so close that if anyone had even glanced down below, escape would have been entirely impossible.

With utmost caution, Alex pulled out his mobile phone to check whether any GPS tracker had latched onto his signal. Fortunately, the phone was completely dead, rendering it safe and entirely beyond the reach of any satellite. For half an hour, the enemy team searched the vicinity around the bridge before finally giving up in frustration and driving away. Once the sound of the vehicles faded completely into the distance, Jackson raised his head to survey the exterior and signaled everyone to come out. Passing beyond the edge of the canal, an old railway line ran straight toward the dilapidated warehouses of the city.

Walking along that rocky railway track in single file through the silence of the dark night, every footstep felt like an impending hazard. The quiet of the late night was so profound that even the sound of their own shoes felt like a precursor to danger. As they walked, the faint, yellow hazy glow of the city lights eventually materialized on the horizon, signaling their next destination. The faces of Macross and Coleman Cross—the true masterminds behind this bloodshed—still haunted Alex's thoughts. He knew this petty underground hiding could not last much longer, and they would soon need to launch a final, decisive strike against the mafia's stronghold.

Reaching the far end of the railway line, they spotted an old, abandoned city warehouse that could serve as a temporary refuge. Jackson stepped forward to check the warehouse's rusted lock, which felt secure as it remained locked from within. One by one, they slipped inside the dark warehouse and collapsed onto the floor, completely exhausted from fatigue. And thus, surviving that lethal assault, they slipped back into the shadowed world from which the next chapter of war was destined to begin.

Chapter 8
Part A: Reorganization in the Abandoned Warehouse

In the darkness of that abandoned city warehouse, the faint morning light peered inside through the broken windows. The injured student's condition was now somewhat better because Jackson had cleaned his wound with the help of a first aid box. Exhausted by hunger and cold, the students nonetheless displayed a strange, unmistakable resolve etched across their faces. Sitting in a corner of that desolate warehouse, Alex was trying to repair the cracked screen of his laptop. Fortunately, the laptop's motherboard had remained intact, and the master data stored inside was still in pristine condition.

Keeping a watchful eye on the warehouse door, Jackson told Alex that staying here much longer could prove dangerous. Seriously, Alex replied that the time for running away was over, and they now had to knock on the very gates of this diabolical network. Endorsing this hazardous plan, Jackson stated that if they were going to strike, it had to be straight at their central welfare center. That welfare center was a massive institution right in the heart of the city, operating this entire criminal network under its cover. Hearing this, all the students were stunned because that welfare center remained packed day and night with thousands of ordinary people and the poor.

Alex explained to them that beneath the cover of such a massive crowd and public shelter, Macross kept his true server heavily guarded. To infiltrate that place, apart from standard security guards, they would also have to fool their high-tech biometric systems. Recalling his old contacts, Jackson mentioned that he possessed a schematic of the welfare center's internal transit system. According to this map, a hidden ventilation duct in the building's lower basement opened directly into the master server room. However, reaching that duct required bypassing the central security zone, which remained under the constant sweep of advanced cameras.

Alex began writing a looping script on his laptop capable of freezing those cameras for twenty seconds. Daylight had broken outside the warehouse by now, and normal city life was flowing along according to its routine, but their mission was about to begin. They divided tasks among themselves, under which some students would monitor signals from the outside while Alex and Jackson went inside. Alex secured his laptop and hacking tools inside his jacket and took one final look at the map. And thus, to break into that dangerous welfare center, they stepped out through the doors of the abandoned warehouse.

Part B: Hunger, Exhaustion, and the Welfare Center Plan

Sitting in the dark corner of that abandoned warehouse, the hunger in their stomachs and thirst in their throats were becoming unbearable. In the hurried escape from the bloody raid at the farmhouse, they had managed to bring neither food nor water along. The injured student's face had grown pale from hunger and weakness, and the rest of the students were barely in any condition to travel further. Jackson pulled a few dry biscuits from his pocket and distributed them among the injured boy and the other kids to restore some energy. Alex knew that going hungry and empty-stomach into an assault on this massive welfare center was a recipe for suicide.

Zooming in on the local map via his laptop, he spotted a small local market located a short distance from the abandoned warehouse. Pulling his hood low over his face, Jackson volunteered to take the risk and quietly arrange some food and supplies. When Jackson returned half an hour later, he brought back a few packets of bread, water bottles, and essential medicines. Sitting on the ground, they quickly consumed the dry food and water, which somewhat restored their physical stamina. Finished with eating, they redirected their complete focus toward the welfare center that served as the nucleus of Macross's secret network.

Spreading the map across the table, Jackson explained that a hidden ventilation duct ran from the welfare center's kitchen and storeroom area. That duct opened directly above the high-security server room where Macross's entire digital infrastructure was controlled. However, the catch was that reaching that duct required blending into the daytime crowd of ordinary people seeking aid to slip inside unnoticed. Alex prepared a smart pass generator on his laptop capable of fooling the biometric scanners installed at the welfare center's gates. They decided to infiltrate the center disguised as regular aid seekers to ensure no one raised an alarm.

Bright afternoon sun beat down outside, and the roar of traffic on the city streets echoed dangerously close to their upcoming mission. Alex carefully tucked all his hacking tools into the inner compartments of his jacket and checked them one last time. The injured student was left behind in the shaded corner of the warehouse under the care of two trusted friends to spare him further strain. Donning expressions of absolute calm, Alex and Jackson stepped out through the doors of the abandoned warehouse. And thus, casting aside hunger and exhaustion, they set forth to put their heads straight into the lion's den.

Part C: The Welfare Center Infiltration and Internal Breach

Beneath the blazing afternoon sun, a massive crowd of destitute and ordinary people had gathered outside the grand welfare center. Adopting the appearance of everyday folk, Alex and Jackson wore caps pulled low over their heads to evade the overhead cameras. A long queue of hundreds of people stretched out in front of the biometric and facial scanners installed at the welfare center's main gate. When their turn arrived, the scanner chimed, but Alex instantly transmitted a forged override code from the smart device concealed in his palm.

The scanner's blue light turned green, and the security guards waved them through, mistaking them for regular aid-seeking guests. The moment they stepped inside, a blast of cool air welcomed them to an environment of absolute luxury that starkly contrasted with the poverty outside. Cutting swiftly through the thick crowd, the two of them hurried toward a corridor reserved strictly for staff members. Right around the corner of the corridor stood two armed security guards aggressively barring anyone from unauthorized entry. Casually leaning against the door of a large storeroom on the left, Jackson signaled Alex with a quick nod.

Seizing the fleeting opportunity, the two of them slipped inside the storeroom in a heartbeat, where cleaning supplies and cardboard boxes were stacked. Tucked away in the rear section of that exact storeroom was the hidden ventilation duct Jackson had mapped out earlier. The duct's iron-meshed grille was secured with rusted screws, which Jackson quickly unscrewed using a compact tool from his pocket. The interior of the duct was dark and stuffy, but it was the solitary pathway leading straight up to the master server room. Crawling forward on his hands and knees, Alex led the way up the narrow, dark shaft.

Jackson followed closely and cautiously behind him, ensuring no accidental scuffling or metal clinking broke the silence. From above, the deep hum of heavy cooling systems and the steady whir of electronic gear inside the server room grew clearly audible. Peering down through a small mesh cutout right at the end of the duct, they caught a direct view of the server room's interior. Down below, one of Macross's assistants sat at a terminal, reviewing lines of code across a massive display monitor. Alex readied the electronic hacking device in his grip, preparing to drop straight down from the ventilation shaft.

And thus, looking down through that ceiling aperture directly into the heart of the server room, they initiated the most critical showdown of this digital war.

Chapter 9
Part A: The Duct Leap and Surprising Revelation

From that narrow, dark corner of the ventilation duct, the entire view of the server room below was clearly visible. The assistant down below was engrossed in his computer screen, completely unaware that someone was right above him on the ceiling. Alex checked the signal of the hacking console in his hand, which was now directly within range of the server. Softly, Jackson unscrewed the mesh grille of the duct to create a silent path down. The moment the mesh was removed, Alex dropped down onto the floor of the server room with the agility of a cat.

Startled by the sudden sound of footsteps, the assistant jerked his head up, but by then Jackson had slipped out of the duct and stood right behind him. Without wasting a single second, Jackson applied pressure to the assistant's neck, causing him to collapse to the floor unconscious in a single instant. Alex immediately stepped forward and plugged his laptop into the computer's main drive to initiate the transfer. Lines of code raced furiously across the screen, but this time the system's response was far more aggressive than the previous ones.

Suddenly, an emergency alarm flashing a bloody shade of red blared across the large LED screen mounted outside the server room. A holographic or live video window of Macross popped up on the display, and his cold, furious voice echoed throughout the room. Smirking, Macross remarked that he knew these rats would walk right into his trap sooner or later. Alex clenched his fists in anger, recognizing the very voice that had destroyed his entire life. With a sarcastic tone, Macross revealed that this entire database was a trap specifically laid out to hunt them down.

At that exact moment, the heavy thud of hundreds of security guards' boots approaching rapidly down the corridor outside the server room could be heard. The shadows of guards and the barrels of their rifles became clearly visible through the glass panels outside the door. Jackson sprinted to drop the main bolt, locking the heavy steel door of the server room from the inside. Heavy shoves and hammer blows began slamming against the door from the outside, causing the entire room to shudder. On Alex's screen, the data download progress bar had reached ninety percent, with only final seconds remaining.

And thus, in those few moments before the door broke down, the ultimate verdict of their life and death was about to be decided.

Part B: The Door Shatters and the Final Upload

The guards outside the server room began cutting through the heavy steel door using a high-power hydraulic cutter. Sparks flew from the hinges of the door, and the massive barrier was on the verge of collapsing inward under the pressure. On Alex's laptop screen, the data download progress bar hit ninety-nine percent and stalled for a fraction of a second. Dragging a heavy desk from the corner of the room, Jackson shoved it against the breaking door to serve as a makeshift barricade. Watching their helplessness through the live camera feed on the screen, Macross burst out into loud laughter.

Sarcastic and taunting, Macross declared that they had run out of escape routes because the entire building was now locked down. At that exact moment, a large green box flashed across the laptop screen with the words 'Download Complete'. Without wasting a single second, Alex simultaneously forwarded all of that master data to the dark web and every major media house worldwide. With a thunderous crash, the door smashed inward, and the guards opened fire indiscriminately. A hail of bullets shattered the room's walls and server glass panes, filling the entire space with smoke.

Firing back with extreme agility, Jackson rushed forward to take down two guards and yanked Alex backward. Yet the sheer number of guards was so overwhelming that they managed to overpower both of them within moments. Two powerful guards tackled Alex to the floor, while another knocked the gun out of Jackson's hand, sending it skidding away. Macross's hologram on the screen was now smiling triumphantly, his eyes locked directly onto Alex. Stepping closer, Macross said in a cold tone that he had wiped out their entire game for good.

A tiny drop of blood trickled down Alex's face, yet a resolute and satisfied smile played on his lips. Looking straight into Macross's eyes, he replied that no power on earth could stop the data he had already transmitted to the world. Hearing this, the color drained from Macross's face for a fleeting second, and his laughter vanished instantly. The guards bound them in heavy chains and handcuffs, dragging them out of the server room. And thus, with their capture, this phase of the battle concluded as they were hauled down toward the basement.

Part C: Imprisonment and the Knock of a New Storm

The guards dragged Alex and Jackson down into a dark, cold cell located in the basement of the welfare center. The heavy iron-barred door was securely locked from the outside, sealing off even a single ray of light from entering. Sitting down on the floor, Jackson felt the injury on his arm, yet a satisfied smile still lingered across his face. In a low voice, he told Alex that the data they had transmitted to the world must be viral by now. Raising his head in the darkness, Alex looked up toward a small ventilator where the night sky was gradually deepening.

They knew that no matter how hard Macross tried, hiding the truth was no longer within his power. Upstairs on the upper floors of the welfare center, intense panic and commotion reigned as that very data erupted as breaking news across global news channels. Across the length and breadth of the city, people were finally discovering the hideous face of this charitable organization and its secret digital web. Footsteps echoed outside the cell, and within moments, one of Macross's chief operatives stopped right in front of their door. With a mocking sneer, the operative remarked that no matter how hard the two of them tried, no one in this city was going to rescue them.

Alex stood up, stepped close to the bars, and stared with such fierce intensity that the operative recoiled for a fraction of a second. Alex stated that their imprisonment was temporary, and this minor setback of theirs marked the very beginning of the network's downfall. Muttering angrily, the operative turned on his heels and walked away, the sound of his boots fading down the corridor. Deep silence blanketed the cell once again, yet beneath that quiet lay the rumbling footsteps of an upcoming storm. Both of them knew this fight had not ended; instead, it had now burst out into the open for the entire world to witness.

Outside, the city lights flickered, and thanks to their sacrifice, millions were about to break free from this grand deception. Alex leaned back against the floor, his mind already racing toward his next strategy to be forged once he escaped this confinement. The wheel of time was turning fast, and the enemy no longer possessed any safe corner left to hide. Their resolve was firmer than ever, and their intentions had hardened like iron, unbreakable by any force. And thus, sitting in the solitude of that dark cell, they began preparing for the next and greatest phase of this war.

Chapter 10
Part A: The Cell Bars and the Welfare Center's Secure Front

In the cold and dark basement of the welfare center, the silence of the night was deep, and the guards outside were alert at their posts. Alex and Jackson sat quietly inside the sturdy iron cell, searching for an opportunity to escape. Jackson pulled a thin steel wire from the inner lining of his coat, which was sufficient for that old lock. Working in the darkness with extreme skill and silence, he felt for the cell's lock. After a few seconds of arduous effort, a click echoed from inside the lock, and it sprang open.

Alex immediately pushed the door open gently to ensure no guard heard any rustling sound. The two of them slipped on tiptoe into the dark corridor where the welfare center's dim security lights flickered. At the far end of the corridor was a service door that opened directly toward the building's rear kitchen and parking area. There was no major commotion there at the moment, and they moved swiftly toward that door under the cover of darkness. Peering outside, Jackson saw an old delivery van parked in the compound with no special guards stationed around it.

Without wasting a single moment, they opened the van's door, and Alex expertly hot-wired the ignition. As the engine started, a faint hum arose, which they immediately covered by revving the accelerator. The van was steered out through the rear garage exit, where the dark road outside awaited them. The main facade of the welfare center still stood completely intact, looking as secure from the outside as ever. With its headlights off, the van sped quickly toward the narrow and deserted alleys of the city.

Alex checked his laptop to find that the data they had sent was causing ripples in certain technical circles, but the welfare center's system was still operational. They knew that the welfare center's public front remained secure and that the internal administration was continuing business as usual. The true framework of this diabolical network was still standing, and their operation had merely been a massive digital shock. They headed toward the old highway leading out of the city to reach a safe location and formulate their next strategy. And thus, escaping their temporary imprisonment, they continued their war against this deep and dangerous web.

Part B: Macross's Counter-Net and the Fires of Rage

Sitting inside the welfare center's private inner server room, Macross was blazing with fury as his system had been breached. He had ordered all his junior technicians out of the room, standing alone before the massive display screen. Placing his specialized cyber network on high alert, Macross switched every traffic and security camera across the city to facial recognition mode. Knowing these were no ordinary hackers, he commanded his most dangerous special tracking team to trace their residual digital signals. Using his immense influence and heavy bribes, Macross quickly silenced the gathering crowds of media and citizens outside the welfare center.

To the outside world, the charitable institution still appeared pristine and spotless, a grand philanthropic center above any suspicion. Yet beneath the surface, Macross had doubled the security of his network tenfold so no one would ever dare look his way again. He ordered his operatives to conduct covert raids across all abandoned city warehouses, desolate industrial zones, and highway peripheries. The fire of vengeance burning inside Macross was so intense that he wanted to capture them alive and destroy their entire operation with his own hands. He analyzed the public database leaked by Alex on his screen, frantically attempting to block all source links.

Although that data had already spread to certain parts of the world, Macross was prepared to go to any length to salvage his remaining criminal infrastructure. A surge of rage coursed through him, furious that years of labor had been exposed to the world by a mere kid in a matter of moments. Armed operatives patrolled every secret route across the city, keeping a sharp eye on every suspicious vehicle or individual. Macross realized for a fraction of a second that if he sat idle, his entire criminal empire would turn to ash. Summoning his most loyal henchman, he ordered a complete lockdown and sweep of the area where their signals were last tracked.

Meanwhile, inside the old delivery van parked at a desolate, dark spot outside the city, the situation was grim and severe. Having gone all day without food or water, Alex and Jackson were in terrible shape, with not a single drop of water left to drink. The gnawing pangs of severe hunger and dry thirst made spending even a single minute inside the van feel like torture. They knew very well that stepping outside meant walking right into the death trap spread out by Macross. And thus, on one side blew the storm of Macross's wrath ready to incinerate everything, while on the other was their ultimate battle for survival.

Part C: The Closing Net and the Call of Comrades

Macross's loyal henchman, accompanied by his armed operatives, had arrived in the exact sector where Alex's signals were last tracked. Across all the city alleyways and highway checkpoints, Macross's gunmen had established a stringent blockade to ensure no one could slip away. Seated in his central command room, Macross was live-monitoring the search operation, tracking every single second with cold precision. His operatives were now drawing dangerously close to the old, deserted industrial zone where Alex and Jackson's delivery van was concealed.

Inside the van, Alex and Jackson caught the distant, rumbling sounds of enemy vehicle engines and sirens drawing closer. Peering out the window, Jackson saw the sweeping beams of flashlights cutting through the darkness in their direction—the net was tightening fast. For a split second, Alex's heart sank; if captured, not only would they perish, but the entire mission data would be compromised. Yet an even greater threat weighed on them: their injured and helpless comrades trapped back at the old warehouse, starving and vulnerable. If they fled to save their own skins now, their loyal friends would inevitably fall prey to Macross's merciless hounds.

Gritting his teeth, Jackson declared that they had to take the risk and extract their trapped companions from that danger zone. Checking his laptop one last time, Alex confirmed that the warehouse was hidden just two kilometers away. However, traversing that short distance meant navigating straight through Macross's patrolling gunmen, with death lying in wait at every turn. Without wasting a single second, they kept the van's headlights completely dark and coaxed the vehicle backward in utter silence. Sensing a faint mechanical stir nearby, Macross's operatives instantly whipped their flashlights around to scan that direction.

The immediate threat of gunfire loomed large, but Alex expertly swerved the van into the deep shadow of a massive concrete wall. Leaving the vehicle behind, the two of them proceeded on foot through the desolate, dark terrain toward the hideout where their friends waited. In the stillness of the freezing night, the crunch of their footsteps and the distant honking of enemy patrols created a terrifying atmosphere. As they neared the warehouse, the faint sound of suppressed groans and suffering drifted out from within. Pushing the slightly ajar door open, they realized the situation inside was far grimmer than they had imagined.

And thus, stepping right back into the dangerous perimeter of the enemy's grasp, they plunged into yet another game of life and death to rescue their comrades.

Chapter 11
The Warehouse Siege and Rescue of Comrades

Part A: The Dark Warehouse and the Shadow of Death

Alex and Jackson slipped inside through the crack of the door with extreme caution, where their injured companions lay exhausted in the darkness. The faint sobs coming from the corner of the warehouse bore witness that hunger and the freezing cold had completely ruined their condition. Jackson immediately stepped forward and placed his hand on the forehead of the wounded student, who was burning severely from high fever. In a faint voice, the boy told them to leave him and escape because the sound of approaching enemy footsteps could be heard outside.

Encouraging him, Alex said that they would never leave him behind and would take everyone out together. Quickly supporting their weary comrades with their arms, they moved toward the hidden exit route. But at that exact moment, the screech of Macross's operatives' vehicle brakes echoed outside the warehouse, followed by a violent kick against the door. An operative standing outside shouted through a loudspeaker that the entire area was surrounded and warned them not to attempt escape. The breath caught in the throats of everyone inside the warehouse for a second, as no apparent escape route remained.

Jackson gestured for everyone to hide behind a large old wooden table in the dark corner. He pulled a small smoke grenade from inside his jacket, which he had kept handy for any emergency situation. With the sound of the door latch breaking, two of Macross's armed operatives burst into the warehouse with their rifles raised. The operatives began sweeping their flashlight beams across the empty, dark hall to spot anyone in hiding. For a single second, Alex cut off the main power supply signal on his laptop, causing the warehouse's overhead bulb to go out.

The moment darkness fell, both operatives panicked and started firing blindly, the bullets ricocheting and echoing off the walls. At that very instant, Jackson tossed the smoke grenade toward the door, filling the entire warehouse with dense white smoke. Blinded by the thick haze, the enemy could no longer see a thing and was forced to cough and retreat backward. Seizing the opportunity, Alex took charge of all the injured comrades and led them out into the darkness through the rear service door. Since their van was parked some distance away, they took the wounded on foot, taking cover behind nearby bushes and ruins.

And thus, pulling their comrades straight from the jaws of death, they pressed forward toward another safe refuge deep within the enemy's encirclement.

Part B: Shelter in the Ruins and the Enemy's Pursuit

Those old brick ruins felt like a terrifying haunted house in the blackness of night, where danger lurked at every step. Jackson supported an injured companion over his shoulder, as the boy was no longer capable of walking even a single step further. The biting wind of the freezing night pierced through their clothes down to their bones, and the suppressed sobs of the kids made the atmosphere even more grim. On the other side, once the smoke cleared inside the warehouse, Macross's operatives realized their prey had slipped right through their fingers.

The leading operative immediately used his wireless set to inform Macross that the targets had evacuated the warehouse and vanished. Seated inside the welfare center's screen room, Macross was ready to burst with fury and ordered tracking dogs to be rushed to the site immediately. Within fifteen minutes, Macross's special tracking unit arrived outside the warehouse, setting the hounds loose to pick up the scent of their footprints. Those trained dogs bolted toward the path of ruins and bushes where Alex and his companions had fled.

Hiding inside the ruins, Alex suddenly heard the distant barking of dogs and the crunch of the operatives' boots drawing closer. Looking back in the dark, Jackson saw the sweeping beams of flashlights rapidly closing in on their exact position. Alex knew they could not hide in this open expanse for long, as outrunning tracking dogs was virtually impossible. They instantly took shelter behind an old, rusted water tank, which provided temporary cover from prying eyes. Sweeping their flashlights, Macross's operatives passed right beside that very tank, the clanking of their weapons clearly audible.

For a single fraction of a second, it felt as though escape was impossible because the hounds had stopped directly next to them. Holding his breath, Jackson gripped the heavy iron rod in his hand tightly, ready to fight to the very end if discovered. Fortunately, a wild animal making a sudden noise in the opposite direction diverted the dogs' attention elsewhere. The operatives rushed off toward that other side, buying Alex and his companions a fleeting breath of new life. Seizing the opportunity, they began crawling in total silence toward the opposite corner of the ruins.

They knew the enemy would not remain fooled for long and would circle back shortly. And thus, with the shadows of death hovering over their heads, they pushed forward toward yet another perilous destination of survival through the night.

Part C: Escape from the Ruins and the New Sanctuary

Risking their lives, everyone dashed toward the other end of those dark ruins, running for their very survival. The injured comrades were completely out of breath, yet seeing death so close infused an extraordinary surge of strength into their steps. From the earlier section of the ruins behind them, the shouts of the operatives and the renewed, fierce barking of the hounds echoed through the air. The operatives realized they had been tricked, prompting them to open fire across the entire area to panic their targets.

Bullets whuted past over their heads with sharp screeches, but the darkness prevented the enemy from finding an accurate mark. Leading the way, Alex searched for the path ahead, recalling that an abandoned underground water reservoir was located near this old industrial zone. Running desperately, they reached a concrete hatch covered in overgrown grass, topped with a heavily rusted iron lid. Using every ounce of his strength, Jackson shoved the heavy lid aside, revealing the passage leading down below.

One by one, they helped lower all the injured kids and companions down into the subterranean shelter hidden beneath the earth. Finally, Alex and Jackson jumped inside as the very last ones and pulled the heavy lid closed from above. Just seconds later, Macross's operatives arrived at that exact spot, flashing their lights and leveling their guns. The operatives swept their flashlights across the clearing, but aside from the overgrown grass, they found no trace or footprints. One of the operatives muttered angrily that it was as if they had vanished into thin air, since no one was around for miles.

Down in the darkness of the shelter, everyone held their breath so softly that not a single sob or sound could escape outside. For a while, the stamping of boots and the arguing voices of the operatives echoed outside before gradually fading into the distance. Once total silence returned above, Jackson switched on a faint flashlight beam to inspect the interior environment. The space was an old but dry tunnel connected to the city's legacy drainage system, offering a high degree of safety. The condition of the injured kids was still critical, but at least they had successfully eluded Macross's bloodthirsty hounds for the moment.

Alex turned on his laptop screen, its dim glow illuminating his grim, serious face as he began mapping out their next move. And thus, sitting within that temporary and dark sanctuary, they began drafting the blueprint for their next and decisive battle against the enemy.

Chapter 12
Macross's New Trap and the Next Counter-Attack

Part A: Macross's Secret Terminal and New Directive

Seated in the inner and highly secure server room of the welfare center, Macross sat calmly yet dangerously in front of the massive display screen. He was intensely furious that that sharp young man and his companions had broken through all his blockades and remained beyond his grasp. Addressing his special assistant, Macross declared that they must now halt traditional search operations and the use of tracking hounds. He knew that Alex was not someone who merely hid, but would strike back with another major digital war to sever the very roots of this network.

Macross ordered his cyber trackers to activate a digital honey pot across all major financial and media servers in the city. This meant that the moment Alex or Jackson attempted to connect to any network worldwide, their exact location would be instantly traced. Bringing a cold smile to his face, Macross thought that this time he would force them to walk right out into the open. He further reinforced the welfare center's public front to ensure its reputation suffered not the slightest damage in the eyes of ordinary citizens. Macross's operatives were now busy installing covert monitoring devices on all major communication towers across the city.

He knew the outcome of this war would be decided not by raw force alone, but by intellect and digital supremacy, and he refused to lose. He updated all encrypted protocols of his network so that no future hacker could ever gain access to his main server. Secret instructions were dispatched to major city newspapers and TV channels to suppress every voice raised against the welfare center. Sitting at his private terminal, Macross personally analyzed all the IP addresses from which the previous data had been leaked. Deep frown lines creased his forehead as he realized that Alex possessed an exceptionally powerful offline decoding tool.

He commanded the head of his special task force to keep a covert watch on the city's university grounds and academic circles. Macross was fully convinced that some old professor or sympathizer of these rebel students was aiding them in this underground war. In the dim blue glow of the server room, his face resembled a terrifying predator closing in on its prey. He announced hefty bounties for any operatives who managed to bring this rival before him, dead or alive. An unnameable tension had spread through the city's atmosphere, acting as the precursor to a massive impending storm.

And thus, to safeguard his diabolical network, Macross spun yet another massive and perilous trap within the digital world.

Part B: Out of the Basement and the Beginning of a New Mission

Down in the dark cellar of the underground drainage tunnel, all the university comrades had now recovered to some extent. Though the traces of hunger and exhaustion still lingered on their faces, their eyes now reflected a clear goal and unwavering determination instead of defeat. Opening the old map in the flashlight's beam, Jackson looked toward Alex to ask what their next course of action should be. Turning on his laptop screen, Alex stated in a serious tone that hiding in this basement indefinitely would never allow them to defeat Macross.

Keeping their injured companions here any longer was fraught with danger, meaning they needed to find a secure place where the wounded could rest safely. One of the senior students stepped forward and mentioned that an old, sympathetic professor lived across the city who could help them in this crisis. The catch, however, was that reaching him required crossing through the heart of the city where Macross's operatives maintained a strict blockade. Tapping a few keys on his keyboard, Alex set up a new encrypted communication channel capable of evading Macross's radar.

They decided to emerge from this temporary tunnel and move toward the professor's house via the city's industrial zone. Checking the compact weapon he carried, Jackson volunteered to take the lead and scout the path ahead. This mouth of the tunnel opened behind an old city warehouse, requiring absolute silence to slip outside safely. One by one, they lifted the tunnel's rusted iron lid and stepped back out into the world. It was the latter part of the night, and sharp gusts of cold wind slammed against their bodies, yet they did not pause for a single second.

Alex kept his eyes glued to the source scanner in his hand to detect any nearby signal or camera in time. The injured students pressed forward silently through the deserted alleys and wall shadows, leaning on one another for support. The distant, flickering street lights of the city served as a constant reminder that the enemy's watch stood guard at every corner. Yet the fear in their hearts had transformed into a spark of resolve and vengeance that feared no adversary. Having crossed the old industrial zone, they were now on the verge of entering the residential district where the professor resided.

The wind was shifting, and despite the chilling cold, sweat gleamed on their brows from exertion and lingering danger. And thus, tearing through the chest of that dark night, they took a decisive step forward toward their new mission.

Part C: The Professor's Sanctuary and the New Threat

Holding their breath as they slipped through that dark alley, they finally arrived in front of the old two-story house. This was the trusted professor's home, someone who had guided them through every hardship during their university days and stood as their staunch supporter. Jackson stepped forward and rapped three gentle knocks on the door accompanied by a specific signal, their secret mutual code. After a few seconds of waiting, the latch turned from the inside, and the door swung open with absolute silence to avoid the slightest noise.

When the elderly professor saw those weary students and Alex in such a state, a wave of deep concern washed over his face. Without wasting a single second, he pulled everyone inside and securely bolted the heavy iron door from within. Seeing the warm light and safe environment inside the house, the injured students felt a renewed sense of relief as they collapsed onto sofas and the floor. The professor immediately arranged water and warm soup with his own hands to help restore their shattered strength. Placing his laptop on the professor's desk, Alex spoke in a grave tone, stating that Macross was now closing in on them.

Adjusting his glasses, the professor replied that he was well aware of the diabolical network's power and its watchful eye over every corner of the city. He revealed that over the past few hours, Macross's operatives had clamped down tight on the city's communication system, tracking every signal. Checking the magazine of his pistol, Jackson warned that if they stayed here too long, the enemy would track them down. Offering reassurance, the professor explained that his home was connected to an old, undeclared underground scientific lab completely shielded from ordinary radar.

Sitting down in that basement, they could build a powerful signal jammer capable of completely jamming Macross's honey-pot tracker. A fresh spark of hope gleamed in Alex's eyes, as a strong and secure lab was precisely what he needed to reach his goal. Meanwhile, seated at his private terminal, Macross waited impatiently for any new digital signal to light up so he could capture its location. Yet the screen showed nothing but silence, further fueling the mounting rage boiling inside Macross.

Knowing these people would never surrender easily, he ordered his special intelligence unit to compile a list of all retired and active professors across the city. Down in the safety of the basement lab, Alex and the professor began wiring the jammer components and writing the core code together. And thus, while the enemy's iron grip tightened around the city, their retaliatory weapon entered its final stages of preparation.

Chapter 13
The Professor Lab's Secret and the Enemy's Suspicion

Part A: Jammer Preparation and Macross's Hunt

The atmosphere inside the scientific laboratory located within the secret basement of the professor's house was extremely tense and awe-inspiring at that moment. In the dim glow of circuit boards, wires, and LED lights resting on the table, the fingers of Alex and the professor moved rapidly. That special signal jammer was now in the final stages of completion, capable of freezing all honey-pot trackers deployed by Macross within moments. Standing at the laboratory door with a gun in hand, Jackson maintained complete vigilance over the exterior conditions and every slight rustle.

The injured students were now resting in a corner of the basement, yet the dread of the impending threat was clearly reflected on their faces as well. On the other side, seated in the central server room of the welfare center, Macross grew intensely restless seeing the persistent stagnation on his massive screen. His cunning mind reasoned that if these were ordinary hackers, maintaining total silence for this long was impossible; surely an old mentor or expert stood behind them. Macross immediately commanded his intelligence henchman to compile a list of all retired professors, scientists, and veteran university instructors across the city.

Within half an hour, a list of dozens of names flashed across his computer, individuals who had previously been suspected of rebelling against the government or major institutions. Macross's finger paused on a list where the name of a well-known and brilliant professor stood out right at the top—and that was the exact same professor. A dangerous and diabolical smile emerged on Macross's face because he sensed that his prey was no longer far away. Without wasting a single second, he ordered his special strike force to tighten the perimeter around the residential area of that professor.

Down in the basement, the moment Alex flipped the main switch of the jammer, a brief electrical surge jolted the screens inside the lab. The jammer had successfully begun operating, and the digital signal field surrounding it was now completely encrypted and rendered invisible. Glancing at the screen, the professor breathed a sigh of relief and stated that no tracker of Macross could now detect even the signal closest to them. Yet at that exact moment, Jackson rushed over from near the top of the stairs, sensing the faint hum of operatives' vehicle engines approaching.

Suppressing his anxiety, Jackson immediately pointed down toward the basement and shouted that the enemy had arrived right at the doorstep. The color drained from the faces of everyone inside the lab, as they had not expected Macross to locate their final sanctuary so quickly. Alex shut down his laptop, secured the new jammer inside his backpack, and began formulating the next course of action. And thus, while their newly crafted retaliatory weapon was finally complete, the enemy's rifles were about to knock upon their door.

Part B: Encirclement and Escape via the Rooftop

Outside, in the yellow glow of the street lights, two large black vehicles suddenly pulled up and completely surrounded the professor's old house from all sides. The doors of the vehicles flew open with a clatter, and the armed commandos of Macross's special strike force secured their positions within seconds. The modern thermal scanners and communication devices in their hands bore witness that they had arrived with thorough preparation. Seated inside the basement, Alex, Jackson, and the elderly professor clearly heard the sound of heavy boots and the commandos' overlapping orders outside.

Jackson pulled back the slide of his gun, locking the bolt, and remarked that it now looked like they would have to fight to the bitter end. However, the professor immediately intervened, stating that this gunfight would be sheer suicide because their numbers and firepower far outweighed theirs. The professor moved an old wooden wardrobe tucked in a dark corner of the basement, revealing the opening of a small secret tunnel behind it. He explained that this old tunnel led from the interior parts of the house all the way to an old water tank in the back alley where there was no guard.

Alex immediately motioned for the injured students to enter this narrow tunnel one by one without making the slightest sound. Jackson decided to go in last so that if the enemy breached the door, he could hold them off for a few precious moments. At that exact moment, a thunderous blast echoed from the upper floor as Macross's operatives blew open the main door with sledgehammers and explosives. The sounds of shattering glass inside the house and the shouting echoes of commandos created a terrifying sensation throughout the atmosphere.

The commandos quickly aimed their handheld flashlights and assault rifles down the staircase leading toward the basement. Standing at the mouth of the secret tunnel, Jackson looked up one last time, leaped into the darkness, and pulled the wooden hatch shut. All of them crawled rapidly forward through the narrow, suffocating tunnel, while right above them, the sound of the enemy's footsteps could be heard. When Macross's commandos broke open the basement door and stepped inside, they found nothing except a few stray wires and a warm cup.

Tea was still steaming on the lab table, making it obvious to the commandos that their prey had escaped mere moments ago. The lead commando immediately notified Macross over his wireless set that the targets had slipped away by a hair's breadth and that a search for the tunnel was underway. Meanwhile, all the students and Alex had reached the final opening of the tunnel, which led out toward a desolate and elevated rooftop. And thus, while the thud of the enemy's boots echoed above the tunnel, they successfully slipped away into the darkness via the rooftop toward a new front.

Part C: Escape from the Rooftop and the Grand Climax of the Chapter

All of them, having emerged from that old water tank and basement tunnel, successfully reached the elevated rooftop of the nearby building. The stormy sky of the freezing night loomed over their heads, while down on the street, the red and blue lights of Macross's vehicles flashed brightly. The injured students were completely out of breath, yet they knew that wasting even a single second here would seal their doom. Jackson spotted an old staircase route across the other side of the rooftop that descended into the alley ahead and appeared entirely secure.

Touching the new signal jammer stored securely inside his backpack, Alex breathed a sigh of relief knowing their precious weapon remained intact. On the other side, the moment Macross's commandos inside the basement discovered the mouth of the secret tunnel, they immediately alerted their commander. Listening to all of this live on his private terminal, Macross reached the absolute peak of fury, infuriated that his prey kept slipping through his grasp time and again. He commanded his strike force to blockade every single rooftop and alley across the district, insisting they could not have run far.

Yet at that exact instant, Alex switched on the main toggle of his jammer, activating a specialized frequency that jammed all surrounding signals entirely. The moment the jammer activated, every wireless set and tracker belonging to Macross's commandos suddenly hissed with static, severing their communications completely. Stricken with utter confusion, those operatives no longer even knew which direction their comrades were in, as the entire local network had suffered a blackout. Taking full advantage of this digital blackout, Alex, Jackson, and all their companions descended from the rooftop and vanished into the darkness of the rear alley.

They managed to sprint completely out of the city's industrial zone, where intense chaos and pandemonium reigned due to the sudden signal blackout caused by Macross. The elderly professor remained by their side throughout this entire operation at a secure location, and his guidance proved to be a veritable beacon of life for them. Venturing past the city limits, they took shelter near an old bus terminal just as the very first rays of dawn were about to break. The wounded comrades had finally secured a relatively safe haven where medical attention and rest were possible, and their morale remained high.

Reopening his laptop, Alex gazed at the jammer's success graph glowing on the screen and allowed a faint, satisfied smile to grace his lips. He knew this was merely the beginning; a furious and deeply wounded Macross would now pursue them with even deadlier intensity, his absolute pride shattered. Standing in a desolate corner, Jackson locked his weapon and mentally steeled himself for the monumental clash yet to come.

Chapter 14
The Professor's Counter-Plan and the Fall of the Network

Part A: The Professor's Patronage and the Digital Counter-Attack

Amidst the secure environment of that basement, the professor powered on an old yet exceptionally powerful military-grade server terminal on his desk. Looking toward Alex and Jackson, he stated that they must no longer remain on the defensive, but rather uproot the very foundations of Macross's entire network. All of their university comrades were now fully prepared and stood ready to enter the fray against this odious welfare center with unshakeable resolve. Leveraging his old contacts, the professor mapped out all those hidden locations and server nodes across the city where Macross's primary operations ran.

He crafted a specialized encrypted script capable of breaching the inner database of the welfare center's primary front to expose its true nature. Alex synchronized this script with his jammer to reduce the risk of being traced to absolute zero. On the other side, Macross, seated inside the welfare center, was still frantically striving to emerge from the lingering effects of the blackout and jammer. He had no inkling that the very professor who had retired years ago was now tunneling straight into his digital fortress. The professor assigned distinct responsibilities to the young students, instructing them on how to proceed to various parts of the city and freeze Macross's financial accounts.

Checking the communication gadget in his possession, Jackson declared that he would provide security and cover throughout the operation. A strange surge of excitement filled the lab at that moment, as everyone knew this was destined to be the grandest and most decisive battle of their lives. Executing a brilliant strategy, the professor ordered the financial transactions of Macross's network to be dropped into the public domain. Within mere moments, proofs of the welfare center's dark deeds began flashing across all major city media channels and social media handles.

The poor and needy individuals who daily gathered outside the welfare center for meals or charity were left thunderstruck witnessing this absolute truth on the massive outdoor screens. They could hardly believe their eyes that the man they had considered a messiah was actually the city's greatest criminal and don. Chaos erupted inside the welfare center, sending Macross's operatives into a panic as all their dirty secrets were laid bare before the public. When Macross witnessed this devastation on his private terminal, a furious punch shattered his laptop screen out of sheer rage.

He knew that lingering here any longer would be suicide, as his charitable disguise had been stripped away forever. He signaled his few loyal, trusted operatives to arrange his private vehicle through the rear exit so he could make his escape. And thus, through the professor's masterful strategy and the fierce counter-strike of these youths, the foundations of Macross's diabolical empire were shaken to their core!

Part B: The Bloody Climax and Jackson's Final Stand

When chaos erupted inside the welfare center after its dark secrets were exposed, Macross refused to surrender and instead ordered all his mercenary thugs to launch a counter-attack. A fierce, direct firefight broke out in the main hall of the welfare center between the young students under the professor's guidance and Macross's armed operatives. The entire area echoed with the screech of bullets and the shattering of glass, turning the confrontation from a traditional hacking war into a direct, mortal combat. Stepping forward, Jackson took up position and began picking off Macross's leading operatives one by one with his assault rifle.

Knowing he had to serve as a living shield to keep Alex and the students safe, he stood his ground unflinchingly in front of the enemy's bullets. Macross's elite guards opened fire blindly, riddling the hall's pillars and walls with holes, but Jackson refused to retreat. The battle was so intense that Macross, seizing the opportunity, began slipping away from his private cabin toward the inner underground escape route. Spotting Macross attempting to flee, Jackson rushed into the interior corridor alone in hot pursuit.

Tragically, a hidden bodyguard of Macross fired from the shadows, the bullet tearing straight through Jackson's shoulder and ribs. Jackson collapsed onto the floor, yet despite the grave injury, he refused to lose heart and dropped the final assailant permanently with his pistol. Rushing over to the spot, Alex found Jackson lying half-conscious and blood-soaked on the ground in critical condition. Smiling weakly, Jackson placed his hand in Alex's and whispered that he would now have to complete the journey ahead alone and on his own strength.

The wounded Jackson urged him to stop right there, press forward, and capture Macross, knowing the war was finally drawing to its ultimate conclusion. And thus, at this delicate turning point in the story, Jackson was sidelined from the battle due to his injuries, having fulfilled his duty in magnificent fashion. On the other side, Macross had reached the door of his private emergency tunnel where his armored vehicle awaited him outside. The moment he stepped inside, he began dialing a highly secret and encrypted number on his private satellite phone with trembling hands.

Suddenly, a high-frequency audio signal transmitting directly outward was traced on Alex's laptop in the welfare center's main server room. Alex instantly captured the signal and played it through his headset to listen in on who Macross was contacting. From the other end of the connected call, a heavy, cold, and utterly chilling voice resounded, shaking Macross to his core. And thus, trembling before that terrifying voice, Macross stammered: "Yes, Boss... Yes, Boss, I am coming!"—igniting a brand new mystery!

Part C: The Boss's Call, Destruction of the Dens, and a Peaceful Return

The cold and mysterious voice echoing through the headphones forced Macross to tremble as he fearfully replied, "Yes, Boss... Yes, Boss, I am coming!" From the other end, the unknown "Boss Number 1" stated in a harsh tone that his entire network had been destroyed, commanding him to reach their secret location immediately. Recording this encrypted call, Alex and the professor attempted to trace its signal, but the transmission was secured by such high-level protocols that it left behind only a single clue: "The Silicon Trap."

Seated inside his armored vehicle, Macross fled into the darkness, while scenes of utter devastation unfolded both inside and outside the welfare center. Working alongside the professor, all the young students burned down and reduced to ashes the welfare center's secret server rooms, hard drives, and financial ledgers. Following the massive uproar, the city's law enforcement agencies and police raided the welfare center, arresting all the remaining operatives. The poor and needy individuals who daily gathered there for meals stood thunderstruck as they witnessed Macross's true criminal reality displayed on the massive outdoor screens.

Those impoverished people finally realized that the institution was never a charity, but rather the front for a massive diabolical network exploiting innocent lives. Acting on the intelligence provided by the professor and the students, all of Macross's secret dens, fake financial cells, and front businesses across the city were demolished one by one. Damage reports and broadcast news confirmed that the criminal empire had suffered losses worth hundreds of millions, its existence wiped out forever. Jackson, who had been wounded in the firefight, was promptly rushed to a secure, hidden medical facility where his condition stabilized and was declared out of danger.

All the university students who had risked their lives in this stormy war were now finally stepping out of that terrifying environment. Following the eradication of the welfare center and Macross's terror, the entire city breathed a sigh of relief once more as the streets grew peaceful. Seated in his lounge, the professor gently placed his hand on the heads of those young students, expressing immense pride in their extraordinary bravery. All those days and nights defined by fear, hunger, and relentless flight now lay behind them like a dark nightmare.

The students eventually departed for their respective homes, where their families wept tears of relief upon seeing them safe and sound. The tranquil environment indoors, home-cooked meals, and the warm embrace of loved ones washed away all their lingering psychological trauma forever. Conditions across the city normalized completely, and everyday life returned to its familiar, steady routine. Yet on the screen of Alex's laptop, that single mysterious phrase still glowed, foreshadowing a brand new and perilous storm on the horizon—"The Silicon Trap."

And thus, following the conclusion of a monumental war and reign of terror, a deep serenity spread everywhere, and all characters returned to peaceful lives in their respective homes.

The End

THE STORY DOESN’T END HERE…

Alex thought the danger had passed.

He was wrong.

Late that night, a strange signal appeared on the screen—one that should not have existed.

There was no name.

No number.

No trace of where it had come from.

Then a single message appeared:

“You were never supposed to find this.”

Alex stared at the screen.

Before he could respond, another message appeared:

“Now they know you know.”

The screen went dark.

For several seconds, Alex didn’t move.

Then his phone rang.

UNKNOWN NUMBER.

He answered.

A voice on the other end whispered only four words:

“Run. They’re coming.”

And then the line went dead.

Who was watching Alex?

What had he discovered?

And why was someone willing to kill to keep the truth hidden?
