reet less-than-ordinary, dreary, operator of the routine trying to be seen as big. At first she didn’t believe me and thought I was just trying to be cutely attractive through bragging.
Fortunately I didn’t tell her that I kept my roscoe in a hollowed out little interest, political book sequestered amongst the bric-a-brac in the low stairway shelves.
I don’t know how I convinced her, but apparently I eventually did. She reacted the exact opposite of what I initially expected, and after giving me the workout of the year, proceeded to excitedly tell her close friends. Well, each close friend told another close friend, and pretty soon it was common knowledge in Rockford that I was a desperado.
The crux of my insecure folly appeared at the same time that the government cops came to our door with the arrest warrant.
