At the King’s kingdom….
The esquire opened the foyer door as Liam entered into the room.
Esquire stood. “I will inform the king that you here.”
Liam, in like manner. “Thank you Esquireman. I will be waiting.”
The Esquireman leaves his side to his master the king.
Liam, slyly moves into the room of wine, goes to the ice bucket, looking carefully for the bottle with the labeled words of, ‘Fine Wine.’ Seeing the right label, taking the bottle into his hand, pulling the cork, then taking out a small piece of white cloth from his trench coat pocket to cover the bottle’s neck top, ever so carefully tipping the bottle to one side as a small bit of gushing wine soaked into the cloth.
Then placing the bottle down onto the table, taking out a small plastic bag from his pocket, placing the now red cloth into the bag, closing the bag, placing the bag back into his pocket. Recorking the bottle, placing it back into the ice bucket. On his way out and out the front door-Gone!
The esquire escorting the king coming back into the foyer, both stood stumped.
The king looking strangely at the Esquire. “You said he was waiting?”
Esquire stood concurred. “Yes sir.”
The king, swiftly went into the room of reserved wine, saw no one. Goes to his esquire. “Esquireman. After you get more sleep, you must keep better guard!”
Esquire concurred. “Yes sir.”
Later that day……
Liam, in Pastor Connor’s office, turned to him. “He wants Tauna to do what?”
Pastor Connor, once again. “King Winfred has requested for Tauna to go in front of the village people to make the announcement of the new kingdom this afternoon. Apparently he wants you two to make the declaration.”
Liam stood in question. “You mean without him?”
Pastor Connor, sighed. “Apparently so.”
Tauna, unfamiliar with the process. “Well I suppose it will go well. The commoners have always supported us.”
Bren with smile. “Oh Tauna I’m sure you could.”
Liam stood in contemplation. “Right. Ok Tuana, you ready?”
Tauna, stood in confidence. Leaving together. Pastor Connor about to leave, then seeing Bren lingering behind in much thought.
Connor, seeing her, paused.”Bren. What is it my love?”
Bren, giving him her attention. “Connor. When I retrieved the medicine paper from the chancery, I saw something I never saw before.”
Connor, inquired. “And what is that?”
On Sir Knight John Drake’s effigy was a symbol. A Templar symbol of a cross.”
Connor, raised his head in acknowledgement.” Are you sure?”
Bren, looking at him. “Yes.”
Connor, stood quiet at first. “Do not tell anyone of this.”
Bren, giving him a lingered look. “What? Oh Connor. Just like you asking me to not tell of our impending child before we married.”
Connor, with strange expression. “What makes you brings this up?”
Bren disclosed. “I don’t know. It always seems that we’ve had certain things in our lives hinged upon secrecy.”
Connor, goes to her, takes her hand. “Now you look at me. I have loved you even before I said my ‘I do’.” He looked down. “We just could not be apart from each other. I take full responsibility for my actions in luring you into my bed as a single pastor. But I loved and wanted you.”
Bren, concurred. “And in your kind eyes of love for wanting me, my heart wanted you. I was so wanting to be with you in your bed.”
Connor looked up with smile. “And I remember our Tauna with her first laughter as baby in my arms.”
Bren, smiled back to him.” And I still have her picture with her two front teeth missing at six years old.”
Connor sat proud.” Come here love.”
They sat closer.
Connor with reason. “There is a reason why we sometimes need secrecy. We are all imperfect. We all make mistakes. I just see it as a way of protection.”
Bren agreed. “ Yes, I know.
With a continued spark in their eyes for each other, their kissed lingered.
