Everyone sitting like the knight’s of the round table, the discussion in full, commenced.
Inspector Crouse, at the head of the table like King Arthur, Detective Liam Niles in the likes of Sir Lancelot, his Brother Trey, as of his brother in arms and Pastor Connor in as Friar Tuck, Lady Tauna in Maid Marian, the rest as commoners, laying all deducements onto the table of possibilities of who, what, where and how to develop a plan of action to bring back Roger and Mary’s Daughter Brandy McKenzie.
Roger, in his explanation of recent dealings. “I knew something just wasn’t right. something did not add up when being confronted by my parishioners. One by one of them, first few of them, leaving my church, then many more of the congregation telling me of their visitation from Monsignor Venold, Priest of Gatlory Monastary telling them warnings of the sinful nature of our daughter. And what am I to do about it. That pious priest poisoning their minds of his goings on about how my daughter deliberately seducing that man they call Maynard, he hired years ago. But I know my daughter better than that, she would never do such a thing.”
Mary interjected. “Our Brandy was only working for that priest to help her father to pay our church debt. She is so interverted, yet loving and caring intentions. She told me of Maynards intentions upon her. Telling her of his intentions to destroy that priest, but wanting to take the money with him offering her much wealth, of anything of her desires. And asked her to go away with him. When Brandy would not go along with his plans….I found bruise on her arm, asked her about it. She would not comply in telling me the truth of who did it. She so badly wanted to help us, even if that meant to be harmed, just long enough to get that money…….. then leave the job.”
Trey, added. “So this Manyard trying to ruin the priest to betray him, on that day as Devon came to witness Brandy on the ground, Maynard may have tried to violate her in his bed, to convince the priest it was of her doings. That accounts for the toren clothing…but she ran away before he could, but then the priest seeing this act of violation against her….”
Liam, interjected. “ And used Brandy as bait and scapegoat to fullfil his pious position as hierarchy for more funds. ”
Inspector Crouse, in conclusion. “So, when this priest found out about Maynard screwing him over, Maynard had already taken off with the loot never to be seen or heard from again, goes after Brandy for payment, then, but she could not pay it back to him, now she’s held hostage.”
Liam, taking a big sigh. “Ransom.”
Inspector Crouse concurred. “Ransom with a gigantic ‘R’.”
Mary, horrified. “ How dare that man! How horrible that man to project our daughter as harlot…in front of others, in order to leave our flock, going into his house of supposed holiness to gain his wealth. He will not get any sympathy from me! If I ever see this Pious priest in my presence again, I will claw his eyes out!”
Breyen, lay her comforting hand on her. “Mother you must calm yourself.“
Marquess Reban in reasoning. “ So that is the reason why Brandy was shy in our first intimacy.”
Roger, Mary, followed by family looking at him in question.
Breyen intervened. “Father, she has confide in me, she does love him.”
Roger as father head. “Marquess Reban. On behalf of my family. I beg of you. Find her as your wife.”
Breyen with her mother smiled in relief.
Marquess Reban, gripping upon his sword a little tighter.” I give you my sworn oath. I will find her.”
Inspector Crouse in consideration. “Of course the truth is the priest has not broken any law with us. And contrary to what The Monsignor’s claimed, there was no trespass signs on his land. We will not need a search warrant to enter onto the grounds. But to get inside his home is a another matter.”
Liam, leaned forward into his chair placing his interlinked hands onto the table. “Oh I think we can manage getting our foot through the door. All we need to have is a little persuasion. We’ll just bash that bloody door in so hard if we have to, he wont know what hit him. So hard, he’ll know the meaning of ‘Just a nice visit with the dear ol penanced priest. Right, this is our plan of action. I’ll go in first, If by some chance I am caught in breaking an entering by the police, Monsignor Venold, Priest of Gatlory Monastary has the right and there would be a possibility to haul me away to the slammer. Trey and Reban will come in to the background to search for Brandy. Inspector Crouse will come in last just arrived as the D.A. man checking on a disturbance in the neighborhood with the police telling them all is well as Reban finds and pulls out your daughter from the priest’s home without him noticing she’s gone.”
Inspector Crouse, in retrospect, rose to the occasion. “Right. Might as well get my last dibs in before my retirement so I don’t get busted on the way out. In conclusion.”
Liam, concurred. “Last thing. Pastor Roger it is imperative for you and your wife to stay here with Pastor Connor and Bren in any attempt that the priest makes accusations of your whereabouts at the time of our break in and any statement will come soley from Connor himself. You are advise to remain silent. So Trey, little brother. What do we say?”
Trey stood. “Its all for one and one for all?”
Inspector Crouse raised his brows. “Right. Who’s in with us?”
One by one, all stand up. “I’m in.”
Liam stood from his chair. “Right. Ok men. We have a future Marchioness to rescue. Godspeed. Let’s do this.”
