Month five through six…….
Tremen on horse wearing armor. Liam, as instructor, about to teach various techniques for striking and receiving hits. “Training involves learning how to present the shield, lower the lance, and aim for specific targets, such as the opponent's shield, chest, or helmet. The goal is to unhorse the opponent. And if you must, deliver a blow that can break your opponate’s lance for this purpose.”
Trey, interjected. “Remember son. Jousting is a dangerous sport, so safety is paramount. This involves wearing appropriate armor, including a properly fitted helmet with the visor down.” Handing him his helmet. “Training helps jousters learn how to handle their horses safely and minimize risks during a joust pass of the tilt rail…”
Tremen interjected. “Wait, I know this one. The fence barrier between jousters.” Smiles slyly. Trey interjects back to him. “ Yes my son. But remember. This is a serious game of competition. You are playing for keeps. Not for petty arrogance. Now comes your day of your first request from us. To teach you the true meaning of how to joust. Now. Let’s see how well you buckled your horse.”
Liam, with full suit of armor, lifts himself onto his horse, taking the reins, guides the horse to one end of the tilt fence. Prepping up his lance to point straight, waiting for his nephew to follow his guide.
Trey, acting as Herald, taking a white flag, raised it up into the air. “Ready gentlemen? Jousters do you charge!” Then whipping it down in signaling to begin. As Liam getting a first start, galloped his horse along side the tilt in lightning speed, as Tremen, likewise galloped toward the center of the tilt, both boldly dashing toward each other with a bash into each other’s breastplate, Tremen feeling his first real jolting jilt of reality upon him as he quickly pulled away giving his uncle a surreal look of reason for being trained.
Liam, giving him a look of, your welcome. ” Well done. First course, first round done. Now. On to second round. Let’s go.”
Ready again, trey raised and swooped down the flag, as Liam and Tremen go after each other, hitting a direct blow to each other’s lances Splitting and splintering them like pieces of dry straw shreddings surrounding the land around them.
Tauna watching. “He’s getting stronger.”
As Bren declares. “It won’t be long now.”
Saren, stood in amazing love for him.
