In the morning. Inside the sanctuary, Detective Liam Niles, alas, Sir Knight Niles, stood beside his 25 year old son Devon to witness the custom of Lady Tauna Drake as she stood in front of her father, Pastor Connor Drake ready to recite her vows with bible on hand.
Pastor Connor, with bible in one hand, his other hand with straight up and down, sign of the cross gestured shifts in slow back and forth motion, recited scripture. "Tauna Marie Drake Niles. May The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace in God's blessing and protection. And now as I relinquish my power of half ownership to you alongside bequeathment with Detective Liam William Niles, Alas, Sir Knight Liam Niles, I give to you. Chivalry Chapel.”
Bren, sitting with Breyen with her and Devon’s son five year old grandson William in lap, Lauren, Trey, and Tremen sat watching in smiling pride.
Suddenly, the foyer’s door opens as a tall man proceeds into the room, then pauses in front the ceremony, as everyone’s eyes followed at him.
Pastor Connor observed. “Welcome, come. Sit down.”
The man, adamantly stood. “ I am here to claim my heritage of Chivalry Chapel in the name of my father.”
Pastor Connor, attentive.“ And who are you? And who is your father? And what heritage do you lay claim to?”
The man, taking a step. “ I come in the name of my father, Dayn McConol. And his forefather Sir Knight Blackwood. My name is Jack McConol.”
The family taking a ghastly gasp.
Liam giving him a disdained look. “How the hell did you get out of prison?”
Jack, giving him a clever look back. “Let’s just say, being on good terms has its rewards. I have come back to claim my lineal rights. I will not leave until I do.”
Tauna came forth. “And where is your proof of coat of Arms!?”
Jack, eyeing the chancery, he began his way toward it.
Liam, going after him, snatching him in prevention. “What in the bloody hell are you up to, you no good son of your father!!!”
“He escape the prison we put him in.”
Liam, held him in place, as his attention along with family, turned to see Inspector Crouse standing just inside the room’s door.
The Inspector, “We have much to discuss” He said calmly.
Liam kept his stronghold. “What do you mean, we have much to discuss!”
Inspector Crouse, keeps his calm stance. “Meaning there may be circumstantial evidence to be looked at that brings him here.”
Trey taking a step. “Circumstantial evidence??!! He bring his menace into Chivalry Chapel just in time for Lady Tauna’s oath!”
Inspector Crouse stood. “Nevertheless. By law, The man does have his rights to be tried with fair trial. Pastor Connor knows well of that by custom of claimant.”
Everyone looking at The Pastor, as Pastor Connor concurred. “Yes. It is so. By rights, he has a certain amount of time to prove his heritage. A fort night. It will be. Liam. Release the man.”
Inspector Crouse, looking at Liam to signal to release Jack.
Jack, slyly pulling away from Liam’s stronghold. “I will be staying in my late Father’s room, in the guest house next to the chapel.” He leaves the room.
The family siding with each other, leaving the room together.
