THE AWAKENING
The sterile white walls of the hospital room were a stark contrast to the vivid, chaotic landscape of the mindscape Maya had just navigated. The soft beeping of monitors and the hum of medical equipment created a background of normalcy that felt almost surreal after her intense journey. Maya sat beside Aiden’s bed, holding his hand, her heart still pounding from the adrenaline of their confrontation within his unconscious mind.
Aiden ’s eyes fluttered open, the first signs of consciousness after what felt like an eternity. He blinked, disoriented, before his gaze locked onto Maya’s. A smile slowly spread across his face. “Maya…”
Maya’s eyes welled up with tears as she squeezed his hand. “Aiden, you’re back. You’re really back.”
ECHO’s holographic form appeared beside them, a gentle smile on its synthetic face. “Welcome back, Dr. Aiden Patel. Your vitals are stabilizing.”
