The sheriff spoke up. “That’s preposterous. I’ve known Dickie Brewer since he was a kid. He’s worked at his family’s funeral home for the past twenty years, and been county coroner for the last ten. Why on earth would he suddenly start killing people? Besides, your evidence is all circumstantial. We need hard evidence to start accusing good people of murder.”
