At four o’clock the next morning, Grant was waiting on the sidewalk outside the office. He checked his watch impatiently, and decided that if JJ wasn’t there in ten more minutes he would leave without him. Just as he was getting ready to give up, he heard the sound of tires squealing. He looked up and saw JJ’s Mustang pulling up in front of the office. He watched with amusement as JJ tripped getting out of the car, stumbling and dropping his backpack. He recovered his balance, and picked up the dropped items.
