Phil has a problem with the sea, so if he'd known the house he'd come to view was on an island you could only drive to at low tide, he wouldn't have bothered. It's only the magnetic allure of the estate agent, the beautiful and ever so chilly Adrienne Divine, that persuades him to bottle his fears and make the crossing. He'd like to see what it takes to break the ice with her, but the tide is already turning, and time is ticking. There's something odd about the house, something odd about Adrienne too, both of them mysteries to be solved, but for now all he has to do is steel his nerves for the drive out to the island. It strikes him as being the last place on earth anyone would actually want to be: remote, barren, hard to get to, and as it turns out,... even harder to get away from.
