27. ADJETIVOS (EXPRESIONES Y/O ADVERBIOS) DE COMPARACIÓN

Aunque no hay regla estándar, generalmente, los monosílabos y casi todos los bisílabos (especialmente los que están acentuados en la última sílaba) forman el comparativo de incremento y el superlativo agregando –ER y –EST, respectivamente; los adjetivos terminados en “Y (precedida de consonante)” cambian la “Y” por “I” antes de agregar los sufijos respectivos; algunos adjetivos (monosílabos, especialmente) que terminan en consonante precedida de vocal, duplican la consonante.
