Over the years, more and more smart home gadgets have been released to the public. These devices are highly innovative and can completely change your life. They offer a handful of benefits, but the majority of them are aligned with convenience. Still, some of these gadgets can certainly enhance your  home’s security. Within our smart home gadgets section, you will be able to discover ways  to  improve  your  home’s  security,  by  using  these  gizmos  and  gadgets.

Smart Light Bulbs

When exploring the massive assortment of smart bulbs, you probably won’t associate these devices with security. Although this isn’t their intended purpose, these bulbs can provide your home with a little added security. Why? Well, an intruder is going to be much less likely to target a home, which is inhabited. These bulbs can be controlled from anywhere in the world, by using your smartphone. Therefore, you can easily switch them on and off periodically or schedule them to do so. This will give the impression that someone is home and will help to deter a criminal.

In a sense, the smart outlet works very similar to the bulb. The device can be automated and setup on a timer, or it can be controlled from your smartphone. You can easily connect a lamp or musical device to the outlet. Once this is done, you will be able to flip this device on frequently. This too will make it appear that someone is home. If an intruder witnesses this, they’ll more than likely hightail it and go elsewhere.

Every homeowner has misplaced or lost their keys at some point, which probably left them stranded outside of their home. The new Smart Home door lock has become a very popular device, because it offers several access options, plus it will protect you from being locked out of your home. These devices are integrated with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi technology, so they can communicate with your iOS or Android devices. This allows you to control and monitor the door lock. This device will set you back by $160-300, but it will be worth every cent.

Smart Home Doorbell

The Smart Home doorbell is also another fantastic device that will allow you to see who the visitor is, without having to actually open your door. These devices are integrated with a HD camera, which will provide you with a video feed or photo image. The Smart doorbell is also embedded with wireless  technology, so it will communicate with most iOS and Android devices. When a visitor rings the doorbell, you will immediately receive a notification via your source device. You will then have the option of viewing the live video feed. The integrated two-way microphone will also allow you the option of communicating with the visitor. This device has definitely proven itself in today’s  technology  world.

Smart Motion Detector

At this point, you should already know precisely what a motion detector does. These devices, as the name suggest, are capable of detecting motion and triggering an alarm. Each device is different and what type of alarm activated will differ. Some will actually flip on a light, while others will alert you, by smartphone. Smart motion detectors can do both. These devices can be used as a deterrence or they can be used for your convenience.

If you have small children in your home, you should definitely install a baby monitor in their room. This will alert you, whenever there is suspsious activity occuring. These devices are integrated with motion sensors, cameras, two-way speaker, and Wi-Fi technology. This will offer you full view of your child’s nursery, plus you will also have the option of communicating with the baby from any room in your home.
