Sawchuck fired for peeing in the drain. Where was the piss?
The now filed lawsuit reveals why ex-red Wings Zamboni driver Al Sawchuck was fired; anti-Canadian racism. The National Hockey League is well known for its disproportionately high level of hiring of French Canadian players. But, when it comes to ownership, management and other ancillary services the offices and drains are virtually 100% White American.
The latest casualty is Mr. Al Sawchuck, twenty-two year veteran of Zamboni driving for the Detroit Red Wings. Not only have all of his annual reviews been exemplary, he has become extremely popular with both players and fans for heroic acts, like the time pictured above, wherein he single handedly pulled an endangered octopus out of the rink drainpipe.
