6 – A Personal Aside I - Generosity

Bidniz wasn’t the only thing going on in Wlady and Ada’s lives. They spent the afternoon huddling together on one of the plush sofas in the living room. Overlooking the wooden coffee table, which held wine, cheese, and a still warm roach or two, they viewed the built in wooden entertainment unit which with the push of a button would be playing Marcel Carne’s “Children of Paradise,” a classic French movie released in 1945. It was actually shot in black and white in occupied France from 1943-45. Now it played on the big screen, high definition TV in their living room. One might hope that it wasn’t embarrassed to be so reduced. Solace was found in the lack of any voiced complaints.
