retired shoelace, and named him "Ambassador of Footwear Affairs." It was a hollow title, but D'Andre wore it with pride.
And though his initiatives never quite unraveled the hierarchy, his voice echoed through the drawer. Other socks began to speak. A toe sock started a podcast. A wool sock ran for Drawer Council.
D'Andre had become what he always dreamed of; not just a sock, but a symbol.
“D'Andre and the Cabinet Coup”
After his symbolic appointment as Ambassador of Footwear Affairs, D'Andre found himself increasingly disillusioned. The sash was fraying. The garments still laughed behind his seams. And the dryer cult; those lint-covered zealots who believed socks ascended to a higher plane, had begun recruiting in the shadows.
But D'Andre had a new plan.
He would infiltrate the Cabinet.
Not the governing body of garments, no, the actual cabinet. The one above the sink. The one reserved for elite textiles; scarves, ascots, and the occasional ceremonial napkin. It was said that garments who entered the Cabinet never returned to the drawer. They were folded into legend.
