"The Verde Awakening"
In the dim drawer of a suburban laundry room, nestled between a moth bitten scarf and a rebellious solo glove, lived a pair of socks named Gus and Wilma. Gus was a thick, woolen hiking sock with dreams of grandeur. Wilma, a sleek athletic ankle sock, had a taste for danger and a disdain for polyester blends.
Their lives were routine; worn, washed, folded, repeat, until one fateful Tuesday, when destiny dripped from a Taco Bell packet.
It happened during a late night snack run. Their human, Trevor, had tossed them on the floor after a jog and promptly dropped a packet of Taco Bell's Avocado Verde Salsa onto the carpet. The packet burst. A verdant splash of creamy, tangy green landed squarely on Gus's heel and Wilma's toe.
Gus screamed. Wilma moaned. They braced for the acidic sting of condiment doom.
But instead… bliss.
