Sock Hop
In the dim recesses of Drawer 7, beneath the tyranny of neatly folded khakis and the oppressive reign of the Belt Coalition, a group of mismatched socks began to stir. They were tired of being overlooked, underappreciated, and tossed aside for minor holes or fading stripes. These were the rebels - ToeJam, lead vocals, formerly a gym sock, Argyle -guitar, a prep-school dropout), Wooly Bully - drums, thick with angst, and Laceface -bass, delicate but deadly.
They called themselves Threadbare Riot.
Their music was raw, elastic, and unapologetically loud. It fused punk fuzz with laundry day blues, echoing the existential dread of being separated in the wash. Their first single, "Lint Trap Blues," became an underground anthem among textiles everywhere.
Lint Trap Blues
Verse 1:
I was born in a basket, raised in the spin,
Tumbled through cycles, soaked in sin.
Now I’m hangin’ by a thread, got no sole to lose,
Singin’ my sorrow in the Lint Trap Blues.
Chorus:
We’re frayed but we’re fearless,
Stretched out and sleeveless.
No match, no mate, no use—
We howl in the Lint Trap Blues.
