Chapter 28
When Tom wasn't working, he was online, looking for information. At first, finding anything useful was difficult, and the internet seemed overwhelmed with pictures and videos. Most left Tom wondering about their authenticity, and while he knew that anything was possible, he also knew that some things are too good to be true. However, because no one's safety seemed to be at risk, Tom had the luxury of time, and used every spare moment he had. Finally, Tom found some useful information for the pursuit of an opportunity many did not have. With every personal account, what seemed consistent was the use of a camera and a digital recorder. The camera was used to capture images and anomalies not seen by the eye, while the digital recorder was used to listen to the voices of the wandering dead. Tom discovered that the recording of ghostly voices was referred to as EVP, or 'Electronic Voice Phenomena'. This would be Tom's primary tool in his attempt to speak with his deceased mother, as everyone in the house had already seen her. But as a means of experimentation, he would also take a few pictures to see if there was anything else wandering through the house. After all, they lived in a renovated farm house, and it may already have as unusual history. However, during this period, Eleanor was making almost regular appearances, mostly upstairs in the children’s rooms. Occasionally, she would be seen as a transparent dim cloud, momentarily flickering into and out of view.
