Chapter 13
It was Sunday morning, and Gordon, pulling himself out of bed, tried to shake the fatigue from his mind. During his college years, he had struggled with stress dreams, produced by his drive to succeed. This, however, was the product of something he was not able to grasp, and he had become just as driven to make sense of it. Throughout the day, he tried to put the matter out of his mind, yet the exhaustion crumbled his ability to think. Now, unable to resolve the images that repeatedly intruded his thoughts, Gordon was forced to confront his dreams, that seemed to have invaded his waking life as well.
By evening, Gordon was unsuccessfully trying to distract himself by reading the latest issue of the 'Journal of Modern Psychiatry'. Although he understood the issues and the jargon, he was unable to focus on a single word. The experiences of the last two or three days had branded themselves on his brain, and as long as his mind looped through these unexplained events, the more his sense of logic was threatened. It was the first time in his life that he had begun to fear for his sanity, and as a psychiatrist, he could only think of one way to deal with it.
