Chapter 64
As soon as they stood up, Maya and Aurora swept their flashlights out over the spacious interior of the grocery store and were awestruck by what they saw. Everything was where it should be, and nothing had been touched. The store looked like it had simply been abandoned, making it perfect for procuring what they needed.
“Look at all of this,” Aurora said. “This will last us a lifetime.”
Maya examined the store’s interior as well, but not just for food. She wanted an efficient means of moving food back to the RV. Carrying food in plastic bags had its limited conveniences, but they needed to make as few trips as possible. Looking off to the left near the doors was a row of shopping carts. Making a close examination, she could see that they were intact, and their wheels were still able to move across any flat surface. The only problem would be moving it through the snow. Once this was accomplished, they could be wheeled down the street. Getting them to the RV should be easy, given the condition of the pavement. But there was another problem. How would they get the carts through the double doors? Ordinarily, customers would push them towards the doors and as a motion sensor triggered the proper mechanism, the doors would slide open. However, this would not be the case and the girls needed to find a way to get them through the doors if they were to get their groceries back to the RV.
As opposed to the convenience store they previously ransacked, looting the grocery store took far more time, but when the girls left, they had far more than either believed was needed. Yet, the smiles on their faces told a slightly different story. Both Maya and Aurora were caught up in a food-induced paradise and would eat like kings for quite some time – at least, until spring arrived. But how to get out? They could smash another window, but that would leave the stainless steel frame as their only obstacle. Stopping in front of the double doors, Maya considered how to solve their conundrum. She was unwilling to simply walk away empty-handed, and there was too much food to take back in plastic bags. They would, somehow, have to get through those doors. She elected to step up and throw her shoulder into the center where the doors met as Aurora watched. When this failed, Aurora looked towards the back of the store, and when she saw the door to the storeroom called to Maya.
“Hey,” she said. “I’ll be right back.” Maya didn’t think it was such a good idea to let her go about on her own, but knowing there was no one else about, she stopped, leaned against the door, and waited. It seemed like forever, but soon Aurora returned with a crowbar and a grin on her face.
“Step aside, girlfriend,” she said. “Let me show you how to do this.”
It was not so much the idea that this small, shapely wisp of a girl was going to force the doors open, but the wording of her approach that brought a giggle out of Maya as she stood watching.
Walking up to the doors, Aurora planted the flat end of the crowbar deeply between them, and at waist, level began to pry them apart. When the space between them was large enough, she forced her hand in and began to push. Opening only the right door was necessary and with sufficient force, Aurora soon had the door open and without electricity, she noticed immediately that it did not push back. Stepping away, she turned to Maya and extended an arm towards the now-open door. “Tah fucking dah!” she said. “One open door.” With a broad smile on her face, Maya congratulated her on what was a necessary accomplishment.
“Well,” she said. “Looks like I’m learning something new about you every day. Good job, but I think that when we leave we should pull the doors back together, just in case anyone else sees this place.”
Aurora agreed and suggested they take the crowbar with them.
“Good idea,” Maya said. “We’re going to have to get back in here, sooner or later.” With the doors finally opened, they pushed their near-overflowing shopping carts through and out into the snow. This was far more difficult than they imagined, but in time, the girls managed to get them to the street. From there, the cleared pavement allowed them to easily roll the carts down to the RV. However, once they arrived, they were again forced to push them through the snow.
Having made the short journey and returned with a ‘King’s Ransom’ of food and other necessary items, they commenced to organize them as they did shortly before. Now, it was time to rest, and with the sun beginning its rise towards the edge of dawn. Maya hoped that the glow of direct sunlight would act to warm the RV, but even with as many blankets as they piled on themselves, the RV was still much like a refrigerator. But there was a solution. This came in the form of body heat and, as in times before, the girls stripped down to bare skin and cuddled to the point of sweating. Now, sufficiently warmed, they tossed the covers off and interlocking their legs together at the desired point of contact brought each other to a much-needed passionate finale. However, once the sweat began to evaporate from their bodies, the moment of enthusiastic affection gave way to the frigid winter cold. As with many times before, there would be other opportunities to explore the depths of sexual exchange.
