Chapter 56
As sweat built up on their bodies, Camilla pulled the covers back on her bed, and while they tumbled in, they wrapped their arms around each other. “You want to know why I really got these fangs?” she asked. She licked his lips and, while baring them, nibbled at the side of his mouth. “Let me guess,” Caspian replied. “So you could bite people while you’re having sex.”
There were no words in her reply, but pushing his head to the side opened her mouth, and she sunk her teeth into the side of his neck. Feeling her breasts against his chest, he gasped as her fangs sunk into his skin. Clenching down, Camilla reached down and guided him into her, gasping at his depth of penetration. Having released him from the grip of her bite, she began easing herself up and down, being in control of her response. “Jesus fucking Christ,” she said. “You’re as hard as a fucking rock.” Her remark prompted her to move faster as she began to achieve release. Soon, she let out a scream of pleasure that was heard down the hallway. The next day others living on the second floor commented on Camilla’s passionate outburst.
After several hours of aggressive pleasure, Caspian drifted off, mostly from exhaustion. They had changed positions several times—some he found a bit painful. When he woke, he looked out the window and, seeing the full moon against a blanket of stars, assumed that night had crept up on the stone house. Sitting up, he felt the cold cover his naked body as the sweat evaporated from his skin. He looked around for Camilla, but between the darkness and the placement of furniture, Caspian found it difficult to navigate the room. Eventually, he discovered the light switch next to the door and, turning it on, was horrified to see Camilla slumped forward in a wooden chair, her left arm hanging down at her side. Investigating further, he discovered a tourniquet wrapped tightly around her bicep and a needle hanging from a vein in her arm. “Fuck,” he said.
Grabbing his clothes, he headed for the door and was fully dressed by the time he walked out of the house. Now there was the issue of how he would get back to the hotel. Walking was out of the question, and at night, he knew it would be easy to get lost. He walked to the back of the house, and before him was his only salvation. It was only a matter of which car to steal—which one still had keys left behind.
Caspian didn’t want to stand out as he made his way back to the hotel, but he saw the black BMW—dark, sleek, and nearly begging to be driven. Walking over to it, he looked into its dark interior. It was nearly impossible to see, but the moon seemed to be in the right place, and casting its rays into the car reflected off a metallic object. “There they are,” he said. “Now how do I get in?”
It would be foolish for someone to lock their keys in their car, but it wouldn’t be the first time. Finding the door handle, he pulled gently and felt the door mechanism disengage. A surge of excitement pulsed through his veins as he climbed into the driver’s seat. Gripping the wheel, he suddenly felt at one with what he realized was likely the finest piece of automotive engineering ever constructed. Turning the ignition key, Caspian touched the gas, and hearing the engine softly purr, backed up from behind the house. He felt his face flush as the excitement of driving such a machine overtook him. Very few words can adequately describe such an experience, but Caspian managed only one. “Wow.”
So as not to be heard leaving the property, he rolled the car down the driveway, hearing the occasional piece of gravel pop under the tires. Once reaching the highway, he turned left and entered the roadway. The night showed no signs of giving way to sunrise, and the streetlights, being the only source of light, left the pavement with an eerie, almost alien look. One might have believed they had somehow landed on another planet light-years from home with no means of return. Caspian found himself momentarily adrift as his foot pressed down on the gas, propelling him along the highway as he perceived his surroundings bending around him. It was physics in motion as time slowed to a crawl and relativity took hold of his perception of space and time. But keeping this marvel of automotive science was not possible. If it stood out, then so did he, and Caspian saw the need to get to the hotel as quickly as possible, and after ditching the car, he would walk back and recover his own vehicle. From there, he would plan his next destination. It would have to be a wooded area, a place where few people had easy access. But for now, the only thing on his mind was escape.
