Chapter 39

Like any student, research takes time, and Caspian spent a great deal of time learning the upstate New York area as well as a few trails of the Adirondacks. He was a quick learner, but his next step had to be convincing Reuben to discuss taking a course in school on driver’s education. Reuben had his reservations on the matter, wondering what Caspian’s motives were, but after some thought, he reached the conclusion that it was time that he learned to drive. However, regarding car ownership, he would have to cover the expenses himself. When asked what sort of car he hoped to purchase, Caspian replied that he was interested in something inexpensive but well built. When the time came, he would take an interest in something low profile, not necessarily a ‘beater,’ but a vehicle that would not be easily noticed. Of course there was a reason for this decision: if those informed by the media were ‘on the lookout’ for him, he might be less likely to be noticed.
