Father James spent the next few days considering Alina's odd behavior. With no way of consulting the Vatican, he was limited only to the information he had on hand, and that was of little use. Even the Bible had little to say, outside of Jesus casting out a demon. The only other resource available to him was the guidance of God but his prayers seemed to fall on deaf ears. Now, like others in the village, Father James was left with his own suspicions and although he didn't see Alina as being dangerous, he couldn't help but believe that she might be the carrier of something malevolent. He also considered his reaction when in her presence and had come to fear that others in the village might fall into a similar sickness.

Over the course of the next few days, Father James came to the realization that there were no means available in dealing with whatever had taken up residence in an otherwise innocent child. But unbeknownst to him, things were about to take an even stranger turn as Alina's behavior became even more bizarre, and her parent were not the only people to notice.
