Chapter 66
Although they could do their jobs, the dealer in charge came to the belief that perhaps he had hired the wrong people. Having seen them question his orders for the disposal of Jonathan’s body, he saw them to be nothing more than cowards. But after that emotional exchange, he felt the need to excuse himself from the group and climbing the stairs, he decided to explore the first floor. Not wanting to wake Frank, he walked silently through the house until arriving in the kitchen. Even potential felons get hungry, and opening the refrigerator, he helped himself to anything that looked appetizing. After gorging himself, he was struck with insatiable curiosity. He had never been in a funeral home and wondered how the dead were treated, what technicians did to them. Exploring further, he found the door to the cool room and, discovering it to be unlocked, walked in. The first thing he noticed was the temperature. It was cold – almost too cold for him. But pressing on he approached the small stainless steel doors and examining the tags affixed to them noticed one in particular. “What do we have here,” he whispered. The body belonged to a young girl who met her demise as the result of an aggressive form of cancer. Being the person he was it didn’t matter what she died of. The only thing he saw was an opportunity.
Quietly opening the door, he slowly slid the tray out and under the sheet was a young woman with short dark hair. She was beautifully dressed in a flowered skirt and, with makeup applied to a fault, her corpse sent him into a frenzy of arousal. It had been some time since he had been with a woman, and the fact that this one was dead didn’t seem to matter. At least she wouldn’t fight him off. Stripping off her dress, he spread her legs and noticed the absence of undergarments. This only added to his arousal. “Well,” he said. “Look at you.”
Examining her body he saw a feature that he normally enjoyed but was lacking. “Not much in the way of tits, huh?” he continued. “Kinda look like a twelve-year-old boy. But that’s okay.”
But there was one thing he had not expected. “What the fuck is this?”
During the process of preparation, orifice plugs were inserted to prevent leakage. They could be used for colostomies as well as any opening of the body that normally allowed for everyday bodily functions. The dealer managed to find one and opening her legs pulled it out. Speaking to her with the anticipation of a 16 boy he pulled her legs apart further.
“You didn’t need that thing, did you?” he said. Her lifeless face gave no response as he proceeded to act out his morbid need for release. With one finger deeply inside the young woman’s body he reached into his pants furthering his arousal. “There,” he said. “You like that, don’t you?” Unbeknownst to him, a wireless alarm had triggered the moment the cooler door had been opened. Frank had it installed shortly before the man and his cohorts took up residence in his basement. Although he had no choice but to let them in he didn’t trust any of them and if he could get away with it, he would kill every one of them. Now, walking down to the first floor Frank charged into the cool room only to witness the violation of one of his clients. Seeing this terrible act unfolding in front of him brought every bit of rage to the surface as he confronted the man.
“You fucking cocksucker!” he screamed. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?!” The dealer knew the act he was performing was wrong on so many levels but seem to care. Any psychiatrist would have diagnosed him as a criminal psychopath, and he would have been committed to a long term institution. Frank had enough – enough of the drugs, the disrespect and the invasion of his home and business. Now, he was about to do something he would never consider under normal circumstances, but he was unable to stop himself. Reaching for the metal stool behind him, Frank swung it with a strength he was unaware he possessed, and striking the man across the back sent him to the floor. But Frank was unable to stop and continuing his repeated bludgeoning rendering him unconscious. Now, throwing the stool aside, he placed his foot on the man’s shoulder and, bending down, screamed in his face.
“You get your fucking druggies out of my house. And if ever come back I will fucking kill every one of you. You got that?! Now, get up and get the fuck out!”
During the fight, a number of instruments had fallen to the floor and picking up the stool Frank turned his back to the dealer. It was only for a moment but long enough for him to pick up a mortuary trocar. Grabbing Frank by the shoulder, he plunged the long steel instrument into his abdomen, angled it up thrust it through Frank’s diaphragm and into his heart. Frank was dead within minutes. There was no time for an angry response or final words and the last expression on Frank’s face was shock. Even the pain of being stabbed was largely absent as Frank collapsed to the floor. Speeding Frank’s death, the man grabbed the trocar’s handle and pulled it from his body. Now, standing over his body the man launched a final insult as Frank’s consciousness quickly faded.
“I always knew it would come down to this,” he said. “And I’ve been thinking about killing you right from the beginning. From the first time you bought coke from me, I thought you were the biggest dick I’d ever met.”
Walking toward the door, he stopped to make one more point.
“Oh, and I’m not fucking going anywhere, asshole,” he said.
Closing the door behind him, he went back down to the basement, where the others were standing in the glow of Jonathan’s burning body. Hearing the commotion, they wanted to know what had happened, but were cut off by the man’s demands. “Never mind that,” he said. “Now get the fuck back to your cots! We’ve got work to do in the morning!” Given what had taken place, some thought about leaving. But the price of getting caught was too high. Others saw the advantage of staying and in spite of two people being killed they decided to stay. But there was no question that it was going to be a long night.
